Is it possible that some debris, like a plastic grocery bag, got suctioned to your sea strainer on your hull?

Hi All,
Getting back on the water after a few years. Old boat was a 2000 410DA with 3116's. New boat we're considering is a 2000 410DA with 3126's at 385 HP. Each have approx. 1600 hrs. No sound insulation on...
I thought it was really interesting that not only did they change actors, but they changed the Skipper's personality somewhat - in the pilot he was always saying, "Now hear this . . ." I didn't hear that too much in the series.
Just found this link. Interesting info here...
We had a local meteorologist give a talk at our last Power Squadron membership meeting. She gave us all a handout with some of her favorite links.

Just for fun. Who remembers this pilot episode? I lived for this show as a kid, but I think I only saw the original pilot maybe once, (and that's only because I seemed to remember some of the scenes having just watched them again). Enjoy...
All this talk reminds me of "The cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon . . ."

Granted, I'm not as experienced as most, but I've got to tell you, I hit waves easily 4 - 6 feet on upper Bay coming back from Havre de Grace on October 22, 2006. You can check the weather history - winds were calm in the morning but kicked up to gusts approaching (and probably exceeding) 20...
For those interested, this weekend (Sept 12 - 14) is the annual Star-Spangled Weekend celebration, at Ft. McHenry in Baltimore, of our victory over the British and the writing of our national anthem.
On Saturday evening, there is a mock ship-to-shore bombardment and fireworks. Many area...
Definitely sounds like a fuel problem of some sort. I don't know enough to diagnose it with certainty, but has he checked his fuel filter(s)? Maybe a bunch of gunk got stirred up from bottom of the tank enough to cause a problem. Choppy water, fresh fuel pouring into tank, etc. Obviously...
Is is possible to use the engine monitoring capabilities of the Raymarine C-120 MFD with our boat? We've got a 2000 410 Dancer with CAT 3116s. We can get the latest software update for the C-120 but the version we have now is still supposed to work. I'm not sure if we'll need the NMEA 0183...
Have you tried the simple stuff like new oil, new air filter, tune-up? Over what period of time have you noticed this difference, and is it consistent? Is your hull clean? Are your trim tabs working properly and do you have them adjusted properly? I really don't know if more drag on one side...
Have any of you actaully gotten fuel at Anchor Bay East recently? A friend just told me that their posted price DOES NOT include the various taxes and that with them, the price is comparable or more than some other places. Can any of you verify the claims, either way? Thanks.

The following was posted to our Power Squadron's list-serve. I'm just trying to reach more pairs of eyes. Please help if you can.

Dear Port partners,
On or about July 24th, 2008 a NOAA Smart Buoy located at the mouth of the Patapsco River was vandalized by persons unknown using a...
Frank,
Thanks very much for the reply. To answer the question "Why?", I simply wanted to know if there was anything equivalent / better and cheaper on the market that someone else might know about. If we never ask, we never learn. Right?

Okay. From a "technical communications" guy at Albans CAT in Baltimore. Both DEAC and ELC are fine products. ELC is recommended for newer engines (2004 --->). CAT has had some, SOME complaints of seepage with ELC in older (<---2004) engines and found that switching back to DEAC fixed that...
I hate to throw a wrench into this discussion, but it may be important. If I'm not mistaken (because I heard this 3rd hand) a CAT mechanic advised us NOT TO USE the extended life coolant in our 3116s. Said it had something to do with it being thinner or more slippery or something than the...
