    I checked the chain and its 5/16 so i think thats correct. And the finger has very little tension on it. But low and behold when i dropped the anchor while in my slip the windless wound in the chain...though there was no force on it so maybe thats why??? But i wonder how the chain is pulling...

    Thank you Little Ducky.... I am not sure what size chain / rope but will measure tonite and reply later. But it looks about right for the boat and has been on it for a long time. And i will try the finger test you mentioned--- good idea. Thank you.
