My 34 has the same setup. They work great and give a quiet ride. I paint them with the normal bottom paint to protect them. Dont loose one or knock it off, they aren't cheap if you can find one.
I agree 100%. I think the 1000 hour engine scare idea came from years ago when automotive engines were converted to marine without any thought as to life since there were no other options. Along comes people like Mercruiser and Crusader who took the GM and Ford blocks and made them into true...
Wondering how many engine hours people have gone on the original engines with proper care and maintenance. Im currently at 1100 and they are smooth and have the same power as day one and don't use oil. Wondering what others are seeing. I have the 6.2's in a 340 dancer.
Acme props out of Grand rapids Michigan. Had 17 x 19 3 blades and they took me to 17 x 17 4 blades with a .105 cup.
Best money spent on boat. Major difference.
I have an 02 with the 6.2's. 2nd season i extended trim tabs and drop fins. The tabs actually did something and pushed the nose down. 3rd year I put on Acme 4 blade props. Different boat, jumps out of water, stays on plane at least 500 rpm less. Mid range cruise dropped 1 GPH. Very...
It's a shame these days watching the mayhem on the water. All it takes is money to have a boat and zero brains or skill. Doesn't matter the size of the boat or age of the operator. I for one believe that operating a boat should require a license just like a car with a renewal test by...
I have the same year and same boat. 2002 Sundancer with 6.2 engines. Had the same stock props you did. I worked with Allison at Acme and she recommend these to me and a friend with the same boat only a 2005. We both love them.
The perform perfectly. 5000 to 5100 WOT depending on load in...
Ive heard lots of stories about the pain issues with the cool fuel. Seems like Mercruiser should be liable for this stuff but unless it happens within the warranty period your stuck. Sound like you will be going soon. Those plugs are available at any auto parts store. You can upgrade them to...
In my drawing you're looking at top view. Bend up and drill and bolt. I used the drop fins to bolt along edges and then the angle bracket where the cylinder hooks i bolted it also. I use a flat sound head stainless screw with nyloc nuts
Bob, My original props we're (3) blade fly Torq props (OEM) on boat that were a 17" x 19" with medium cup.
The Acme props are (4) blade, 17" x 17" with medium cup. No prop noise in prop pocket, no vibration and smooth
pull right up too wide open. Gettin on plane is a 1/4 push to throttle and...
Is it real? Meaning is tach giving you a bad reading or are you seeing it in performance? If its real, it could be a lot of things! Is it running rough, missing, is it bogging down and not have power? Have you heat anything and bent a prop?
Any vibration from port engine? Have you looked...
No cylinder change required, they work just fine... They push the bow down with very little effort.
RE: Props: I called Acme Marine and spoke with their technical sales. They ran the numbers for the boat and gave me a recommendation. They perform exactly as they stated hitting the WOT on...
I have the 34 Sundancer and with the same engines. They love to run up around 3800 to 4000 rpm. They were built for that. However, SeaRay undersized the trim tabs on these boats per Bennett. If you look any your boat size on their site you will see it's one or two sizes too small, partly...
