Thanks Lazy,
It was a river boat before I took her to sea and I'm not sure if there has been some tinkering. (See pic)
Re the prop: It's a 19 pitch, can't see diameter but the serial number says 48-16544 19P.
Re the RPM: With no load I still only get up to about 3,800 RPM but I do get up to...
Hey all,
I just took a long weekend away with my 1990 220DA Sundancer. 2 PAX, a tender and some basic food and supplies and a couple of duvets. She has the 5.0L Mercruiser, Alpha One leg and a 19P prop.
I reckon I burned about 18 gallon an hour on the two hour stretch across the Atlantic from...
Ah yes, I did forget to say... I'm in the UK, currently on the Thames but will soon be back on the sea at Falmouth in Cornwall.
In my experience, they don't seem to cater from Sports Cruisers and there's never been anything that screws in, that's why I'm looking to buy my own. The DIY shop...
Hi,
Can anyone help me out?
I want to buy the proper screw in waste adapter for my 220DA 1990 but I don't know which one to get because I don't know the diameter. I'm travelling on business and can't get to my boat to check.
Does anyone know what the right screw in adapter size might be...
Hi,
I tried to go boating for a few hours yesterday, I arrived and started the Mercruiser V8 by bringing her out of gear and pumping a couple of times to mid point and then back to about 1/4 throttle. I turned the key and she started immediately and purred like a lovely angry tiger.
I left...
I’ve just been to have a chat to the Marina and yes I’ve cancelled that Amazon order. After trying to convince to winterise he then said one or two tube greenhouse heater would be fine.
Thanks for this advice, I’m very very grateful.
Hmmm, that’s troubling. I got the enclosed oil based one instead of the kind of open element and fan thing for that reason.

Warmlite WL43002Y Oil Filled Radiator, Adjustable Thermostat, 650 W, Off-White
Thanks to all for the advice, it has certainly helped me make up my mind.
I've just bought an Oil Heater and also this to allow me to remotely monitor the environment. I've decided to leave her in the water in the marina. The heater will keep things warm and the monitor will let me know if...
Thanks Creek, yes it's a mixture of in and out of the water at the Marina. It's GFB and has recently been treated plus a gel coat so hopefully fresh water scum won't be too much of a problem. If it was salt water I'd almost certainly not be thinking about over winter.
I looked up the...
I'm lucky enough to be only 10 mins drive from the Marina so if anything happened to the power on the site I could easily get there. I love the idea of having remote monitoring of temperature, I hadn't thought about that. I'm starting to think that if I leave an old iPhone onboard and plugged...
Hi,
I've listened to lots of advice and I've trawled the forums and I'm afraid I've still not been able to reach a conclusion. The question is... which winter strategy is best for me? Perhaps there isn't actually one answer I suppose but I'd value your opinion.
My 220DA Sundancer has the V8...
Hi all,
My 220DA is in overall great condition for a boat from 1990 but the instrument panel is a little sad looking with flickering needles on the dials and sort of working buttons and switches.
How much do you reckon it would cost to either buy all the bits and bobs and replace it all myself...
Hi,
I have the 1990 220DA Sundancer but the only owners' manual I can find is for the 1989 220 SUNDANCER LIMITED
Do you reckon that's the same thing? I've never seen this "Select" model thing.
