Thanks, Al!
I already have the Seastar fluid
I googled a video on topping off, and it was just as you said. You put the fluid in the at the steering wheel. The video said nothing about a reservoir (it wasn't even a Sea Ray boat, though). But the 390 manual still mentions that there is a...
Happy Black Friday!
Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Or a nice Thursday outside the US!
Anyway, I've had an intermittent problem this season.
My steering was very tight, as if there was no power assist. I could still steer, but it took a lot of effort.
This only happened about four or...
Poor choice of words on my part. Not hot, but normal operating temperature. I don't know what the RPM of the pump is, but the rotational friction is going to heat it up to above the raw water temp.
And yes, I fished the broken parts out before I started up again.
Was on the hook over Labor Day weekend and the generator stopped.
Opened the impeller cover and half of the blades were missing. So I got out my spare and started the replacement process.
It took me two hours to get the old impeller out. Access is tough on my 390 MY, but I had done it before...
Mike,
My display was the same, with the "STOP ENGINE" and "CHECK ENGINE" lights always on before starting. Had me worried about the stbd engine, even though the lights would clear after startup. "Why didn't it do it for both engines?" I always asked myself.
One day I was poking around inside...
I was going to post earlier that I never use the cockpit AC. I like the breeze and access with the doors open and canvas up. But it’s just toooo hot this weekend! 10 am and it’s already in the high 80s and it isn’t cooling off enough at night.
So I sealed up and fired up the AC for the first...
Sounds like it does not have it. Mine has it and there is a breaker for it (no blank). There is a blank for "Salon Air Conditioner #2" though.
Also, the cockpit AC compressor is next to the salon AC unit. The air handler is under the helm seat. In the attached pic, you can see the salon unit on...
I don't think this boat was meant to be out w/o the genny running.
It has six batteries already. I would like to add to add two deep cycle house batteries, but there isn't any room.
I've only had my boat a few weeks and have been wondering about this. Manual says to de-energize battery solenoids when away "for an extended period." But what is extended? Have been down at the marina every weekend so far!
I was keeping my ignition keys in the "on" position because I like to...
First night on the hook in the "new" boat and woke up at 4 AM to a tapping/thumping sound. The frequency of the "taps" increased quickly until it was a steady hum. Traced it to the starboard cabin speaker. Stereo wasn't even on(!).
Not quite sure, but I think I opened the port battery solenoid...
Thanks! I climbed up through the hatch and accessed the anchor light & masthead light.
For the record, they are Aqua Signal brand fixtures and both take a type 1157 bayonet style bulb, also called BAY15D. Not to be confused with a BA15D base. The BAY15D has bayonets that are at different...
Finally took possession of the boat! Had a great first weekend, but I need to replace the bulb in the masthead light. Not having much luck finding the type of bulb needed. I don't even know what brand the light is. I thought it would be listed in the parts manual, but it's not. Since it's up on...
Yes, I've seen that in some threads for Sun Dancers. Hoping the MY door isn't as narrow!
I think having the broker get this replaced will be a condition of the sale, even if we pay for most of it.
Survey complete.
The Galley Norcold 0061 is not working. Has power & makes noise, but not cold. Mrs. Owner said it was working the last time they were at the boat. Mr. Owner then said that he "manually" defrosted it and likely damaged it in the process.
Is this repairable damage? It looks...
I'd go for the Nespresso/Keurig as well. I don't have patience for drip coffee anymore.
And it's nice to have a nice fresh cup at 11 instead of "burner" coffee.
