how long do shutters last ? I mean before they break apart and wind up down in the Y-pipe.
I just finished grinding and shaping the top of the Y-pipe so the shutters can work properly. Now I'm wondering how long I should wait before checking or replacing them
I want to add a thru-transom watersupply but as mercury has advised me to keep the one that goes thru the outdrive, because it cools the outdrive. has anyone had any experience with this plumbing, I mean can I just come off the back of the transom exsisting supply and tee in at the thru-transom...
The info that I'm seeing is just put it back together and torque it to 40 lbs. , is it really that simple ? it doesn't matter where the cam is, in other words, when you go to do this all the the valves are closed, and it doesn't matter where the lifters are in relation to the cam lobe ? If that...
I have a problem, I have a Mercruiser (this is a reman LONG BLK. with only one hour)(serial#0F021366) 1993 7.4L gen-v block and head (casting #10114182 is the block and #10114156 is the head) so I would say these are a matching set right ? Well, the water ports don't match and the gasket choice...

I am rewiring my bilge and I have a couple of electrical drawings, one showing wires going directly to the converter and the other showing the wires going to the battery switch first, so which one is correct ?
I am rewiring my bilge, I'm using one of the old pumps (rule 750 auto) and I also am installing a (rule 1100 auto) as a emergency pump. The old pump did not have any markings on the wires, but the new one did, after after some research and trial and error I found out they are wired differently.
rewiring my bilge I've come across in the protective covering along with the bilge wires and the emergency bilge wire and high water alarm wire, there is a brown w/blue or violet stripe, it's not on any of the drawings I have, is anyone familiar with this ? All these wires end abruptly, the last...
my ? is this, can someone show a typical bonding system and where the green wires finally end up,I mean do they end at a anode ? I've seen a few spots where a 10 ga. wire ends up with a screw thru a crimped fitting to the inside of the hull and in about 4" it starts back up again, it seems like...
working in the bilge of my 93 290, I noticed some duct tape at the bottom of the fuel tank to the bilge. Is this how the builder seals a void ? Just now I was looking at some pics of a sea ray with tanks on each side, so now you can get to the front of the engines but good luck getting to the...
