Manual pump toilet conversion to an electric unit? My 87 300 is already wired for it, so I don't think it would be difficult to accomplish and I am tired of replacing the manual pump seals twice a year to keep them working. Anything I should keep my eye on when making this change?

"If all the gauges are out I’m thinking there has got to be a common problem. I wonder if a common ground could be your problem." I will check for a common ground, that said most of the gauges have activity/movement, they are just wildly inaccurate and unreliable. Do gauges just go out of spec...

The only gauge on my entire dash that still works is the engine rpm/tach synch gauge. How do I even start to trouble shoot these gauges and begin to get them working again? Any suggestions would be helpful.

1987 Sundancer 300 with twin Mercruiser 5.7 I/O. Somehow the previous owner ended up with two different temperature sensors/thermostats on the engines, so according to the gauges one engine runs at about 120F and the other about 170F. Can someone point me to the best place to get the correct...

The bottom paint required they take off all the old ablating paint and primer, then new epoxy primer and 2 coasts of paint. There was some minor bubbling on one chine, but they said that self corrected before new paint. Also, the drives required significant work to remove growth/buildup before...

I recently shipped my 87 Sundancer 300 from Indiana to California. The boat yard recommended new bottom paint (for salt water)($5200), painting the out drives ($750), replaced all zinks ($350), replace two through hull valves ($1000), labor rate is $95/hour. Ouch! But, I think I'm done, they...

They are going to take the current ablation paint down to the primer, then add another coat of epoxy primer and 2-3 coats of bottom paint appropriate for San Deigo Bay salt water.

Bottom Paint estimate? I am moving my 87' Sundancer from fresh water to a salt water slip. Boat yard says is will cost $5200 to strip old bottom paint off, prime it and paint it. Does this sound reasonable for a 30' boat?

Hi Everyone, I am shipping my 1987 Sundancer 300 from Indiana to Cali and the driver is requesting a vertical height of the boat. Of course, I can't find this spec anywhere and Sea Ray isn't helpful. I don't have the spoiler on my boat, so the highest point is the top of the windshield. Any...

Fresh water to Salt Water mods

Both my engines and lower/upper units were rebuilt in the last 3 years, so I would like to protect them. So a half system protects the engines but not the risers/exhaust, is that right? Any idea how much to install a fresh water cooling system? I was told I might also need new bottom paint to...

Fresh water to Salt Water mods

Hi all, I have a 1987 Sundancer 300 currently located in the midwest where it has resided in a freshwater lake its entire life. I have moved to San Diego for work and would like to have a boat on the bay to enjoy. I am not getting much traction trying to sell it as it is a rather small...

    1987 Sea Ray Sundancer 300

"Paradise Lady" is in great shape, always been in covered freshwater slip. Was previously owned by a mechanical engineer who rebuilt both engines and upper/lower units about two years ago (approx 200hrs each). Dual 5.7L V8 Mercruiser I/O, lots of teak wood newly refinished. Runs great, good...
