    Air conditioning service charge

This is just a number that has been given to me. Not sure if it’s good or not.

    Air conditioning service charge

If the leak can’t be fixed, it’s not much good to me.

    Air conditioning service charge

My air conditioner needs service. By that I mean find the leak, fix the leak and recharge the system. I have been quoted a price of about $350. Does that sound about right? Also, what kind of warranty can I expect on this type of work?

    Copper Eliminates Barnacles

I'm not sure where I read this, but it seems copper can be used in our a/c system to eliminate algae and barnacles. 1/2 inch copper elbows, available for Home Depot, etc, were specifically recommended. I have recently placed several in my a/c strainer, but it's too soon to make an evaluation...

How do I cure a “musty” odor?

My Sundancer is buttoned up most of the time. Although I use the dehumidifier sitting on the air conditioner, the interior still has less than a fresh smell. I do use air fresheners, but they just seem to mask the problem. I was thinking there must be some type of a “bomb” that can be used over...

    Clean/lube a vacu flush toilet

Thank you for this technique, but Do you have to use powdered tide or will the liquid version work as well? How long do you keep the tide/water mixture in the bowl before flushing? Why do you depress the pedal for one minute? Thank you.

    Clean/lube a vacu flush toilet

What technique do you use to clean your vacu flush toilet? Water leaks out of the toilet and I believe the ball/seal is not working properly. I read where the ball may develop a buildup of mineral deposits thereby breaking down the seal with the rubber gasket. If this is the case then replacing...

    Cleaning barnacles from hoses

I recently had my air conditioning hoses cleaned, and I was surprised to see such a large amount of barnacles. Now I am wondering about the cooling hoses to the engines and generator. How often do you have them cleaned as well?

How to adjust the fan on a Cruisair system

My air conditioning system is working great, but what I do not like is when the compressor turns off the fan continues to operate. Is there an adjustment to where the fan will shut off and only run when the compressor is running?

    No A/C Discharge Water

Thank you for your thoughts but I do not believe it is losing its prime. When I check the strainer it is clear and completely full of water. Also when I disconnect the discharge hose from the pump I cannot blow through it. It is completely blocked from the pump to outside the boat.

    No A/C Discharge Water

One more thing. Once I get it working, it continues to work fine. It is only after I shut down the system for a period of time does it not work.

    No A/C Discharge Water

I thought I had the problem solved, but the saga continues. I had the system working perfectly. Lots of water coming out of the exit hole in the side of the boat. Just like normal. This tells me the hull pickup is free and clear, the strainer (which I checked) is also free and clear, and the...

    No A/C Discharge Water

Great news - problem solved. I held a hose at full power to the side of the boat to backflush the system and turned on the system. At first only a little water came out, but after about 10 seconds it's back to normal. I suppose I should be concerned about solving the real problem, but I'm just...

    No A/C Discharge Water

I like your idea, but I live on a fresh water canal and flush out the system after each use.
