Well, I have some good and bad news. The bad, I have sold my boat and won't be taking any more trips up to the San Juan's this year. The good news, the boat was on the market for less than 2 days, lots of interest and the first person who viewed it, is buying it.

I replaced my aft, port window this evening. It is curing for 24 hrs, before I clean it up entirely. Very easy, scary easy really. I simply pushed up on the corner where it was leaking and it just lifted up. The caulk / silicone that is in the repaired one looks much better than Stbd.....so...

My wife and I have decided that we probably won't get the trips out of ours this year that we were hoping for and so it pains me to say it, but she is officially up for sale in the Seattle area. Let me know if you are interested. We are officially starting to plan for our water home.

Anybody ever have one of your 2 (pointy, aft, deck windows) leak and if so how did you fix it? There is a strip of molding on the interior and I'm not sure how it is attached. I don't want to break it. My port window above the aft end of the sofa/mattress started leaking. UGGGH. It almost...

My wife and I were talking about this yesterday. I live in a place where there is always a current sometime up to 4 kts. I have the Rocna 10? and it is useless. I don't think I have ever put it down and not been swept away. Maybe it is the currents but we are looking to upsize our anchor...

Does anyone who owns a 290 have plans on moving up to something larger, MUCH LARGER? What are you thinking and what would your choice be? I live in the PNW and really love my boat for what it was built for, but it isn't a fishing boat or nearly big enough to live on for us. Unfortunately...

My refrigerator (2.7 cf) inside the cabin is dead and it was going to cost nearly as much to have someone work on it as it did to replace it. Purchased a new Norcold 2.7, much more quiet and efficient, but the face is different. Pics to follow once installation is complete.

Has anyone had a custom mattress made for their 290? We have the original pad? The last owner added another layer of something and it is ok to lie in for a while, but not sleep.

My boat has been back in the water for about a week now and I have burned through a tank of gas and spent time on it about 4 days. I replaced a bad gimbal bearing in my STBD motor and the bottom paint and propspeed…...but, I have seen a HUGE difference in top end speed. I have a pair of 4.3L's...

Yeah, I thought about that as well, only the edge of the light nearest the stern is in the water. I have the 4.3's, I would assume they sit lower on the larger engine options too. I didn't swap them. Outdrives are back on, props are gold and I am waterborne at 1 tomorrow. I am trying out a...

Has anyone swapped out their underwater lights for led's? I am trying to find one that is a lower profile, therefore they stay out of the water and don't get growth on them.

Boat is on the hard and just got new bottom paint, gimbal bearings, bellows, outdrive paint (Petit Eco), and Propspeed on props. I am in a warm marina that has lots of hard barnacle growth during the summer and was having to scrape my outdrives and props every month.

Replaced the STBD: outboard exhaust manifold, gaskets and riser gaskets, power steering pump / reservoir, crank shaft pulley, heat exchanger gaskets, oil, oil pressure sending unit, coolant. PORT: oil and coolant. And sent the back...

Kind of a cult following. I got mine about a year ago and use it all the time. Mine is in a marina, and I probably put over 100 hrs last year alone. Several trips to the San Juan, Orcas, Lopez islands in the PNW. I usually take mine to sea not to exceed 2 weeks if I can help it, keeps things...

New to the group. My wife purchased me our '07 290 back in February. We are up here in the PNW. The boat has twin 4.3's, very low hours and was kept in Lake Union (Fresh water) most of its life. We have used it a lot since purchase. Recently we went up to the San Juan / Orca's Islands and...
