Very Common when you buy a Sea Ray.
I am in the market again but after owning a 2006 185 sport for a few years not sure I would ever go back to Sea Ray and the crappy workmanship we put up with. Yet all I hear about is how great they are. Looking at a Four Winns this time and a few others.
Are you serious about the flat spots?
Never had a problem with any of my boats...but i just started putting jack stands under the axels incase I do have a flat. I had a hard time deciding were I would place them...for full support through the winter with out doing any damage.
A friend of mine did the wood block trick this winter and this year went to check on his boat and has a flat tire and of course a alot of weight is now on the skeg. I wonder if he will find any damage come spring?
"If indeed this is a new pricing strategy, I would think prices on used Sea Rays should start to climb as well."
Makes sense this would be the outcome? I sure hope you are right!
My next boat I am taking a bottle of quick detailer and a microfiber towel and going over the whole boat. Trust me in the heat of the moment things get missed and this will possibly save you a few trips back to dealer for warranty work.
Good Luck and have fun!
I had a similar problem. I found that when I folded the tounge in it disconected/pulled the wires in the trailer frame. I just needed to pull a little more out of the trailer and the problem hasnt come back. When you fold the tounge you can see that each wire has a quick disconect...as I...
I forgot to report back...I finally got the nerve up to give this a shot. It was much easier then what I had imangined it to be. However the black Gelcoat has been left alone not sure I could get that to match as well.
If I was to just wet sand these spots since they are smaller what grit...
We spoke to our local dealer on a 2008 230 Select yesterday. He claims MSRP was $67,000 and he could sell it to us for 53,000 out the door. I was shocked at the price increase compared to a 2007 220 Select same options earlier this summer was $39,000 out the door. They can keep the boats at...
No answer yet.
Most of the cracks on the top side are around the swim ladder and were the deck snugs up against the boat. There are probaly 30 or so cracks under the deck (rough gelcoat) that have been documented by the dealership. I really believe someting is wrong with it because it...
Has anyone noticed or had cracks in their swim platform on the new 185 or 195 sport?
My warranty was up the end of July and did we ever get chance to use it on many occasions. This boat has had many gelcoat repairs. The underside of our swim deck started cracking and creaking after the...
It was just the wife and I in the boat...not sure why I took it off I usually dont.
On another note I found a large handful of cut off zip ties and wire nuts and even a few screws while I was searching.
