Thanks Kevin a well documented install. In my case the windlass needs to mounted a little left of center so filling the hawse pipe hole seems for me the answer. Thinking of putting a 1 inch piece of plywood underneath to provide more deck strength and also to keep what ever I use to fill the...
Thank you - filling the hawse pipe hole with epoxy is an excellent solution and the wiring route. I had no idea that the wiring could be run through these spaces. The other thing i was wondering about as it only came with a dash switch was whether or not a remote switch could be added? Thanks again.
Have a Lewmar V700 verticle windlass and want to install on my 2002 260. Looking for a instruction video. As you know there is an existing anchor rode hatch the hole for this isn't in the right place for the windlass. The instructions call for the windlass to sit to the left so as to line up the...
Who would have known a simple question would solicit so many posts. Anyway yes I did run my gen on the grid with no CO problems. As it turned out on the last occasion tied up over four days I ran the batteries down. Ran the gen for a couple of hours and that was enough to put some life back in...
Thanks guys - another late fall job to take care of.
The other part of the process is the engine. I have first hand experience with this when we lived in northern BC and much lower temps. Thank goodness for insurance.
Thanks for all your responses. I have learned something - before I ask a question - check and see if someone else has asked the same question - don't want to waste anyone's time. I have used portable generators for years camping - I know the inherent risk. As to my question I simply wanted to...
Our first outing was to Sucia Is. Our first overnight will be to Sucia. Hopefully in the next week or so. The only thing holding me back is not having a gps/anchor watch. Not sure I could sleep with out knowing something was watching over us.:)
Thanks - we always use bottled water when camping so will continue now with the boat.
The other ? is draining the water tank? I see a tap on the hot water tank but don't see one on the cold water tank.
thanks
Some dire warnings here. Checked my SR manual again just to make sure there was nothing there re portable genys - nothing. CO detectors have a finite life. What's the life span for the SR CO detectors? Nothing in the manual. I'll add a couple more - just to be on the safe side. Honda doesn't...
Sitting here thinking about this and just wondering about boats with built in genys. I get the fact that the exhaust is vented outside the boat but in the same way a geny on the swim grid could have exhaust blow back into the boat could that not happen to a boat with a built in geny?
Thanks guys for this info. No intension of running the geny while people are swimming off the swim grid that would be stupid. My only thought was morning and evening meals. I don't understand what "boats bonding system" means but by plugging the geny into the shore power connection wouldn't...
OK here's and easy one - the mirror in the head has a hinge across the top - is it meant to open? I tried but didn't want to force it for fear of breaking resulting in seven years bad luck:)
