Official 330/350 (2008 and newer) Thread

On our boat, the fuel filler caps are labeled correctly on the Port side but are mislabeled on the Starboard side. The fuel gages correspond to the fuel tank you would expect, Starboard gage for Starboard tank.

    Bow Thruster

From what I understand you should use an anti seize w/Teflon. Not the standard Hi Temp Copper anti seize used on the auto field. The copper does bad things with electrolysis and your zinc's.

    320 Bypassing Hot Water Heater

Now that brings back some memories. I've heard that quite a few time from my Grandfather. Most of the time he was talking to me!! That memory is one reason for more surfing the threads and less posting.

    Mechanics -1 Oily Spark Plug???

Off hand I don't know what plugs are in the boat's engines, and I don't have the manual in front of me and I'm no plug expert. Now with that said. One of the numbers represent the heat range on the plug. Not all manufactures are the same, so a Goggle search on the plug of choice is required...

    Mechanics -1 Oily Spark Plug???

Unrelated to finding or fixing the possible oil infiltration problem and until it becomes a significant enough problem that your going to do something about it. You might consider running a hotter plug by one or two levels. This will not solve your oil leak problem, but it will help that plug...

2008 Sea Ray 330 Sundancer Review

There was no mistaking our list when we first saw it. We just got back from a week down in Ocean City and the holding tank was full. The boat had a 4" list to port. It was pulled and we put some shrink wrap tape with 1" increments on each side of the transom. After the holding tank was...

2008 Sea Ray 330 Sundancer Review

At this point the service writer and I have all most exhausted all possible scenarios that would create the list. Right now were waiting for the factory trouble shooter to come out and give it final try to find the possible cause. We have looked at possible water infiltration, component...

2008 Sea Ray 330 Sundancer Review

We had a list like that. Overall I think there were 38 items on the punch list ranging from minor problems to major issues. At least you aren't dealing with a 2" list to port with yours. I agree on the quality control on all the little stuff. So much money and good will could be saved on...

    New boat listing problem?

Yea, so far nothing other than lets add some weight to her. The one good thing is that it's not getting worse, but no better either. I was just down in the engine bay and was looking around and it looks like the generator could move about three inches to the starboard side. I have no idea...

Have you found extra ballast added to your boat

Unfortunately my finger pier and spring line is on the starboard side and the boat sits fairly loose in the slip. The dealer has it out on the hard right now. They pulled the trim tabs to check if they were sealed correctly and if any water came out of the hull. The good news is that...

    Cant find oil leak

Also dbl check all the hydraulic lines and fittings. You can run a dry paper towel over all the hoses and fittings to check for the red fluid.

Have you found extra ballast added to your boat

This is a continuation of sorts to another thread I have going in here (New boat listing problems?) While you've been working on or poking around in your boat, have you found any extra weight/ballast that has been added to it to make it sit level in the water? I'm dealing with a brand new...

Looking for best price on Optima Blue Top Batteries

I can't answer you on losing the historical data when the power is disconnected, but my guess would be that you wont. Around here the local recycling centers will take your old batteries, used motor oil and antifreeze .... and stuff.

How does everyone wash the hull in their slips

The slip were in doesn't have much of a finger pier on one side and nothing on the other. I just tie the boat up along the walkway to the floating dock and I can adjust my lines to pull the bow in close and let the stern hang out. I just let the boat pivot off the fenders while I scrub and rinse.

    New boat listing problem?

Thanks Dave, I appreciate it. I can see it now, Bill. No Lance I don't know what those extra brass fittings are mounted on the swim platform

    A little caulking trick...

Here's another little trick for you when working with silicone caulk. When you want to smooth out a silicone caulk joint like you can with latex. Use Denatured Alcohol in a spray bottle like you would water with latex. You can use blue tape to have clean edges, just spray the silicone with...

    New boat listing problem?

Thanks for the replies. Yea, the list is really bad and noticeable when the holding tank is more than half full. Half full = 3" list and 3/4 full = 4" list. I'm sure it's been the topic of conversation more than once along the dock as were the only boat there that has a visible list like it...

    OceanLED 33 dancer

On the right boat and in the right water, I think they look very cool, especially at anchor. Now here in some parts of the Chesapeake Bay I don't think the light can be seen from the surface

    New boat listing problem?

I'm in the middle of dealing with a final warranty item on a new 08 330DA. So far I haven't heard or discovered the cause of the problem from our dealer or the factory rep. Here is the background: My buddy made the deal on the boat, it went in the water on a Tuesday, took delivery on Wednesday...

    New Member in Joppa, Md.

It is a nice arrangement for both of us. I live fairly close and he's out of state. It's a brand new boat thats been out of the water more than in. I've been working through a laundry list of warranty and new install items with the service dept here at the marina. They have been really great...
