I'm looking into prop size also in order to improve performance. I have a 2001 310 with vdrives and the props are 16x15x1.5. My buddy has the same year etc. and his props are 17x20x2? apparently searay tried to improve performance and changed the transmission and the prop size? Any thoughts...
Thanks for all of the ideas in reference to repack seal, new water water pumps. In reference to the cost to convert from raw to fresh water the kits run about $1300 per engine.
I've got a 2001 310 with dual merc 5.7's that were raw water cooled. i'm re-powering with fresh water and the mechanic is recommending fresh water manifolds for an additional $3000!! I changed the risers/manifolds about 5 years ago and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this...
