Brunswick selling off Sea Ray brand

Well, isn't that special? It's not snobbishness at all, in fact I worked cleaning toilets while I was in college. Not much of a ditch digging fan, but I do it in my yard occasionally. Not everyone gets a high paying job, recognizing this is not unfair, and this doesn't need fixing, either.

Brunswick selling off Sea Ray brand

I'm not 'wealthy' by any stretch of the imagination. The economic truth that I think you are looking for is that there shouldn't be 'high paying jobs' for everyone. If there were, who would clean toilets? Dig Ditches? Etc?. But, for those of us in the millenial age group - if you chose to...

Brunswick selling off Sea Ray brand

Sorry, not in the mood for whiners who think that paying burger flippers fifteen bucks an hour will solve income inequality.

Brunswick selling off Sea Ray brand

Like PlayDate said, I think a lot of it has to do with Perception Management. SeaRay isn't even as bad as others like Formula. I filled out the order sheet and got a sticker price north of $100K for a 24' bowride - absolutely nuts. But then the sales guy comes back and says I can get it for...

Brunswick selling off Sea Ray brand

Millenial here. Income has increased sevenfold since I entered the workforce in 2008, two homes, two cars, and a boat. Stop asking Bernie for things and go get them yourself. I still stand by my initial point that the SeaRay pricing for moderate dayboats is insane, talking MSRP and not...

Brunswick selling off Sea Ray brand

I know that this forum generally caters toward the larger end of SeaRays line, but I'm new to boating and still in the small boat range. We started with an 18' Searay that I just recently sold. I wanted to move into a new (or very nearly new) boat in the 23-26' bowrider type, and Searay has...

    Trim Fluid

Really? I looked at it for two seconds and figured it wasn't designed to come off, that would've made it so much easier. Worked through the hole in the top and the little cutout near the floor. Oh well, hopefully won't need to go in there again anytime soon :)

    Trim Fluid

Great tip, back in business. Job still sucked, opening into that side of the bilge is about 1.5arms wide, and I needed to shove both of 'em in there!

    Trim Fluid

Broke a fitting off the pump, lines look good. Should be a treat to remove and replace.

    Trim Fluid

This friggin boat... Anyway. Had her out today, great day on the water, towing and running about. Never a hint that anything was wrong, but when I went to pull it out of the water, trim would not come up. Looked in the bilge, and bright yellow fluid everywhere, managed to lift the drive up...

    Intermittent Alarm - Bad Sensor?

Perhaps, depends how it is wired, normally open or normally closed. Float switches can go either way.

    Intermittent Alarm - Bad Sensor?

Coming off the gear lube container, about 6-8" down. Was usually just one beep/chirp. Nothing since then, did a 40mi cruise yesterday (long way for a little boat), and not a single beep.

    Intermittent Alarm - Bad Sensor?

Two days on the water, no beeps :)

    Intermittent Alarm - Bad Sensor?

Thanks, cleaned mine up today, and in the process I found that one of the two quick connects on the sensor was barely plugged in. Perhaps that will do the trick.

    Intermittent Alarm - Bad Sensor?

2003 SeaRay 182, 4.3 Merc I/O Over the last few weeks I have been getting an intermittent alarm while underway (less than one second, more like a beep), generally when making a significant turn, or when bow is up coming onto plane. Oil Pressure (and level) is fine, operating in normal temp...

Anyone running aluminum 4 blade, 17" pitch on there 185?

The 14 x 17 was not enough prop for the boat. Easy to overrev and fairly slow - fuel-efficient, though. Going to a 14x19 4-blade.

Anyone running aluminum 4 blade, 17" pitch on there 185?

I'm in the same boat (pun intended), I just bought the 4x 14/17, installed it last week but haven't gotten it wet yet. Should be a good choice.

    Favorite type of float.....

We use the River Runs as well. Good quality, and cheap to replace if someone cuts it.
