Thanks a lot Kevin, it makes some sense now. Will try the next time I'm out in the water.

Question on trim tabs on a 03 Sea Ray 245 weekender

Boat is very new to me, and the trim tabs rockers are on the front panel. My question is if I push the rockers UP, does that lift the trims up, as in closer to the boat? There are no markings on the tabs now. I just need to know what way to press the rockers to retract them closer to the...

Question for anyone in the Stuart Fla. St Lucie river area

You are correct, that is where I'm keeping my boat. I never saw those wooden poles to the left of the marina. I DID see them on my tow back in. BoatUS was the BEST thing I have spent on that boat so far.

Question for anyone in the Stuart Fla. St Lucie river area

Thanks a lot sporters78, I just learned that the hard way. Within 150 yard of the marina, I missed the green and red stripped poles in the water and STUCK. I finally got out of there and after going under the Magnolia Bridge, It overheated a bit so I shut 'er down. Then the wind and current...

Question for anyone in the Stuart Fla. St Lucie river area

I just bought my first boat, and looking at the tides here, it seems they don't rise and fall very much. Looks like the difference is only about 6" to 12". My boat is in a Marina down the South Fork, and just wondering if the tides make that much of a difference going and coming back, if you...

Bought my first boat 245 Weekender

My new to me 2003 Sea Ray 245 Weekender. I shopped around and with the help of many folks here, and their valuable information, it's MINE now. I didn't want one this big, but was told that you should always buy your 2nd boat first. The Wife Unit had two requests, a head, and high sides. The...

    2003 245 Weekender should I buy ?

New to me now. I was going to only look for a 20-21' but the "Wife Unit" wanted a Head, so I bought my 2nd boat first that gave her a few extras.

    2003 245 Weekender should I buy ?

Thanks to all of you that responded to help me out. The boat is MINE now. It passed all the inspections and sea trial. I just got the oil changed and ready to take her out. I'm happy it is a nice boat, and handles very well, and the Wife Unit likes the head. Should be good to go.

2003 245 Weekender question on beeping

So just check and keep the oil full, and no worries? Sea test on Mon or Tue so we will see if it all checks out. Since I'm new at this, I worry about the little bit of rust and paint flaking on top of the risers. It says it has 117 hours, but checking to see if that is really true for a 2003...

2003 245 Weekender question on beeping

Thanks for the info Dennis. If the surveyor gives it a passing grade, it will be my first boat. I read in the Forum that you should always buy your 2nd boat first. That is what I'm doing. I started off just wanting a nice 20-21' boat, but I had help from the Wife Unit to look at this one.

2003 245 Weekender question on beeping

I'm looking at this boat, and when I turn on the ignition, it starts beeping. Should it stop after a few seconds? The dealer was not sure, and I have sent an IM to the owner, but nothing back yet. I'm going to get a surveyor to do the inspection, but when I was looking over the boat, I...

    Official 240 Sundancer Thread

Great Forum you guys. I'm new to boating and have a chance to get a 2003 245 weekender or a 2003 240 Sundancer. Both seem to be great boats, the 240 is just a bit more money but much cleaner. The 245 seems to have a broken hour gauge, stuck on 117 hours and I'm trying to find out WHEN it was...

    2003 245 Weekender should I buy ?

It has a 5.0 and a Bravo II with just 117 hrs. I'm very new to boating, and would use this on the Indian and St. Lucie River in Florida. It would be in dry storage until I call to put it in the water. Anything special I should look for and should I get a Boat Inspector to take a look...
