I would like some clarification on these extra circuits I've read about. Can someone show me in the schematics and/or with pictures of the actual EIM where these are? I can't seem to find them in my schematics or boat.
I am particularly interested to know exactly what wire coming out of the EIM...
I'm not exactly known for my tact - I tend to call 'em as I see 'em.
As I said, it seems the inmates have taken over the asylum. Some of those inmates post wrong or even dangerous information. Another poster, who has perhaps less tact than even I do, comments on things like that. Inmates get...
My shiny new Icom 504 seems to have developed an issue with the squelch. When first installed a couple of months ago, it worked fine. Yesterday while trying to coordinate a raft-up, I discovered it will no longer receive unless the squelch is turned all the way down. Obviously, this is...
The RN300 GPS currently installed in our boat is clearing circling the bowl and will be replaced prior to next season. I was going to go the RayStar 125 route and be done with it, however, now I'm wondering if one of these Airmar weather stations with the built in GPS and heading sensor might be...
Cruised to Oxford, MD with the family last Friday, returned Sunday. About 13nm out from Oxford heading home the starboard engine set a "check engine" alert on the Smartcraft, and beeped twice every minute or so. All guage indications were normal, and the engine seemed to be running fine. Decided...
Saturday afternoon we finally splashed Full Circle II and she now rests in her slip. Thanks to cold and wet weekends this spring we are a bit behind schedule. Managed to get the coolant changed in the mains and genset, re-routed some wiring in the engine compartment, cleaned the bilge as much as...
Here's a pic from the boat fire we witnessed Sunday (story in Cape May thread). This is obviously after the fire was put out, as she was being towed in.
Word is she was a 50'er. Not much left...

Got to the boat early Saturday morning intending to fiddle with the genset (see other thread). As I walk up the dock I hear the beep-beep of someones alarm. Hmmm, seems to get louder as I get to our boat. OH CRAP IT IS OUR BOAT!
A quick check of the Sea Ray monitor (source of the alarm)...
Fired up the genset today and it was surging quite a bit at idle (no load). By surging I mean the rpm would slow to near stalling, then back to normal idle. Waterflow was good, and under a load it smooths out and runs fine. This is the opposite of what I would expect from fouled plugs (plus were...
Looks like my RN300 is crapping out. It's been getting slow to lock up, now it is starting to lose the fix at odd times.
So who has upgraded from the RN300 to the Raystar 125? Any tips? Will the RN300 display work with the Raystar 125? I seem to remember this coming up on SRO, but I can't...
I know we have a least a couple of folks here in the bolt biz - I am looking for 1/4-20 2 1/5" hanger bolts. I really only need one, but I'll take four if I can find them. These bolts appear to be what Sea Ray uses to bolt the head down.
If I can't find bronze, would SS be an acceptable...
I'm on a roll this weekend.
Our Vaccuflush head has had an intermittent vaccum leak. It started late last year, seemed gone at the start of this year only to return in the last couple of weeks. Water was staying in the bowl, so I figured the ducbills needed changing and I picked up a set...
I've been chasing a water leak ever since we went back in the water. I did find and fix a leak on my freshwater distribution manifold, but that wasn't the only leak. Yesterday I think I finally found the main leak.
We had made a short run to a local cove and dropped the hook. Hanging out on...

I finally recommisioned my fresh water system last weekend and on the way I noticed the bilge pump came on for a couple of seconds as we came off plane. Now I think I know where some of that water is coming from...I found a puddle of water coming from under the water heater. All the...
I have a problem with my starboard fuel guage reading empty even with a full tank. It worked fine all last year, so something must have happened during layup.
I hooked up an ohmmeter at the guage side and read 256 on the starboard and 30 on the port side (port side is also fine, and works)...
Full Circle II is back in her slip, ready for a new season.
It was somewhat painful getting to this point, as we had a fair amount of preventative maintenance to deal with. While changing the main raw water pump impellers the pumps were discovered to have significant internal scoring - both...
Had a nasty shock this weekend when the boy checked out our flares and found that all of them had expired. The first aid kit also had a lot of expired stuff in it. Time to buy replacements!
Be safe out there.

As part of our pre-2007 preventative maintenance, I had our boatyard inspect my risers (we're right at the 5 year point) and also asked them to check all the hoses, etc. for anything I may have missed last year. I'm an avionics guy, I'm still learning the more mechanical things. The good news is...
