I have 08, 340. Love it. Water pumps go pretty regularly on the 8.1's. I do put on about 400 hrs a year and replace every 3 years or so. The 08 and I assume older have wood stringers wrapped in glass. Then they drill holes to drain from one area of the bilge to another. These holes are...
Just came from the mechanic. They still haven't started the repair (sigh). I do in fact have dripless. I was confusing the drips from the rudder seals. They leak for a bit when I first go in the water. The repair involves pulling everything from the bilge, boring out the old wood, filling...
Here's some additional information:
1- I don't have dripless shaft seals, so there is always a bit of water in the bilge. In fact most days when I go to the boat and stand on the swim platform the bilge pump kicks on for a few seconds. Also after trolling for hours and then get on plane...
I had a survey 6 years ago, found no water intrusion. Pulled the boat for the winter (heated storage every winter) and found one motor shifted, stringers are not solid enough to hold the bolts in the motor mount. My mechanic found up 60% to 100% saturation in all 4 stringers.
This ever...
I just did mine two weeks ago. I have Ablative bottom paint but could not confirm if it was water or oil based. I was told you can use water based over oil based for touch up but not vice versa. My boat was power washed when taken out of the water and I went over it again with wash cloth...
We have a condo at Catawba Bay (off Muggy Rd) the development has it's own marina. Unfortunately no living on your boat here. I have a buddy who stayed in Fox Haven as long as I did.. maybe that would work.
Any of you fishing folks have big board reels mounted? I am thinking of adding to my boat but want to use the rocket launchers and side mounted rod holders, think I may have to put a pulley of the bow in order to get those rods to run correctly.
Nice Set up TRUE NORTH. Sorry BLASTER for not crediting you on the flounder - looks like Bill Collector and you chase the same species. There's a fun Youtube video to watch fishing for flounder with Bacon in a kayak!:
Mine came with rocket launcher and two holders mounted on each side as well as two holders in each gunnel. I have a CISCO 3 holder with gimbal mount on each side in one of the holders.
