best sedan bridges other than sea ray

@Robf We did look at the 44 and the 56 Sedan Bridge models. Price was probably the biggest factor, we got more for our money choosing the 411 and they both realistically came from the same factory (albeit some differences in build). I also did not like the size of the flybridge on the 44, it...

best sedan bridges other than sea ray

The stairs are a bit steep, but true of many makes. In comparison to others I've been on recently: Easier to climb vs Carver 450 Voyager, slightly harder than a Sea Ray 560 Sedan Bridge. They are not as challenging as climbing a ladder to the flybridge on a sport fisher. I do like that the...

best sedan bridges other than sea ray

I hesitated a bit chiming in as it IS a SeaRay Forum. Well put @FootballFan We moved from Sundancer to a Meridian 411 Sedan Bridge and absolutely love it, but it is well suited to what WE do, which is coastal cruising. It has a huge flybridge, gets a mile/gallon at cruise with 370 HP...

    Who has cut the cord?

The Roku TV is pretty good in that they don't need to cycle through HDMI inputs to get to the streaming stuff and can flip around from the home screen menu easily. Picture is great as well. We have a 28" model in the salon and it fits well in the cabinetry of our current boat.

    Who has cut the cord?

3 years of no DirectTV at $200/month. One Terk HD antenna in the attic that feeds all tv's for rarely watched local channels, hulu and Amazon Prime for 80% of our viewing and Netflix and Youtube for the remainder. Missed DTV the first few weeks, now not at all. Have Roku TV's in the boat and...

    Generator on or off?

We start ours before we start the engines and it is the last thing we shut down after docking.

single issue left No Spark. ( boat cranking now, remote solenoid replaced)

Crazy question, but gotta ask... has the boat been repowered or had a different ignition put in since the original? It's been a while, but that looks like a later model MPI coil. If it is the later model ignition (has the flat top distributor cap), there is a 3 gang fuse block hanging near...

    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

Guess this will be my last post here. We sold our 280DA a short while ago and have joined the "dark side" now with a 411 Meridian Sedan Bridge. We started the trek home from FL to TX last weekend and hope to have the new "Maggie Mae" home by the end of the month. Had a lot of great memories...

    Cummins qsb 5.9 running temps

you might post this on https://www.sbmar.com/ Tony is pretty knowledgeable around Cummins in marine applications. boatdiesel.com is also a great resource. I would think a couple of degrees difference is not a huge deal, the 20 degree diff in the oil coolers would have me a bit spooked.

    Bad boat names

The worst I've seen in our area is a center console fishing boat named Salty Test Tackles One of my votes for best name around here is a United Pilot's Carver, Floatsome and Jetsome

    NGK Laser Iridium spark plugs

I reached out directly to the Mercruiser folks for their latest recommendation (changed from the original recommended plugs). What they sent back for my 4.3MPI was the NGK Iridium: Michael, Our spark plug recommendation for this engine is the NGK ITR4A15. Thanks, James MerCruiser Consumer...

I've reset our trims using the process in the manual a couple of times and while they initially sync 1 to 1 for port/stbd they drift off pretty quickly

My solution for holding the a/c grille in, interference fit with a little bit of plastic jammed in. I used a piece of tie wrap. Held for a 50 mile round trip, in chop, in the Houston ship channel so I think I'm OK....

    oil weight

Royal Purple HPS 10w-40 with Royal Purple filters (they seem to be much stouter than any others I've seen). (4.3's, 5.0's with a couple of cylinders missing....). They used to do a Marine spec'ed oil, but their engineering folks recommended this as better when I spoke with them.

vhf with AIS rec and trasponder

Here is the latest update I got from SH on the 6500 (been waiting for it forever, now giving up and going with AIS650 Raymarine)... Hi Mike: The GX6500 is still in development, but nothing concrete yet. The GX6000 will be available within the next month if you were interested but it won’t have...

REMOVING CURVED SEATBACK, PORTSIDE FRONT Mine is heavily sun damaged and I wanted to get it recovered at a local shop. I spent a bit of time researching on the web, and there was very little concrete information on it. There is a post from several years back that will come up via search...

Retro fitting cabin lights with LED's

Here's a decent chart on color temps for LED lights. I went with 6000K as I like the bright white vs. warmer yellow color of the original bulbs. Hope this helps a bit! https://cdn.ledcorporations.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/led-color-temperature.jpg

    LED conversion....on the cheap

On the E14 bulbs, I went with these a couple of years ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FAG1GLK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Works great! On the nav bulbs, I have only replaced the white anchor/nav light. Contrary to the thinking in earlier posts about visibility, you...
