Worn Exhaust guides or valve seals will pass a lot of oil and you will not see it on the plugs. Is this a new boat to you?

Have to read all the plugs? They must show oil on them or the oil is being pumped out of the oil cooler.

7.4MPI oil loss... wheres it all going?!?!?!

Is there a sheen or spots of oil at the exhaust? Pull your hose off that oil cooler if it’s leaking that much you will see and feel it. Older boats with side exhaust, you will have a black mess on the hull by the water line. What is the hours on the engine? My guess is valve guides and seals.

    Chicago,Chicago, Whata Ya Do ................

Our (Chicago)per-murder capita rate is low because of Chicago’s excellent ER dept and experience. With all the shooting over the past three decades we have the unfortunate expertise in gun shot wounds. It’s not the guns, police or politicians fault it’s the breakdown or lack of family and...

The pick up in the distributor can go bad. If original the two wires corrode under the pick up. You can swap them easily.

Engines are in. Using soap on the exhaust pipe elbows. The short outside runs are tight. I did not unbolt the muffler. Will I get this on with soap- anything better to use? Thanks
