Just installed a new Garmin VHF radio. After installation, it won’t power up. Both inline fuses are good (one fuse with the new unit and one further up the line). Which fuse at the box feeds power to the VHF? At a loss here.
From where the charger mounts in my boat, there’s no way I can feed the chassis ground wire to a bus terminal. That’s what prompted the original question, is it really necessary?
2006 340 - I replaced the original battery charger with the ProNautic 1230. It was pretty straight forward overall, but I do have a question. There is a temperature sensor that has to be connected to the house negative terminal battery as well as a chassis ground wire that needs connected. For...
Good to know. The engine is only about 2 yrs old with new manifolds and risers. I wouldn’t expect the gaskets to fail so soon. I’ll replace the oil cooler do a few oil changes and see if that clears the issue. Thanks!
2006 340 twin 8.1 496’s. My boat is in the water full time. I was doing an oil change and after sucking the oil out of the port motor, I noticed an oil slick B had formed on the water. The only place where I could think of where it would have come from is the underwater BNO exhaust. Ordinarily...
The boat sits in the water and it’s part of my regular maintenance. I’ll get a fault code if it is clogged and no codes were thrown. It runs for about a minute or so and as soon as the condenser kicks on, the pressure gauge pegs out and then shuts the system down.
I cleaned all the lines, and when I turn on the air conditioner, the high pressure gauge goes way high and then shuts off. It’s a relatively new system about two years old. Any ideas what the problem is?
The first photo is my battery charger when I put new batteries in on the starboard side. I must’ve had an open circuit somewhere because overnight, I have no juice to raise the hatch. The second picture is this morning when I turn the battery charger at the panel off and then on again it shows...
The first picture is the battery charger when I first put the batteries in. The second picture is after I turned the charger off at the switchboard and then turned it back on again. It shows it’s working with the power on and the steady green light. However, should the needle be showing some...
Just put in new batteries. Must have an open circuit somewhere which ran them down because after 3 days, I don’t have enough juice to raise the hatch! Remained on shore power and the meter in the electrical box in the cabin shows that I’m getting power to both banks. Can I hook up a cigarette...
