What does a good, thorough survey cost? I've got the local marina who are friends of mine but am not sure about how thorough of an inspection they will do on a boat I bring them (they'd rather sell me a pontoon boat!).
Just found this thread! I'm looking for a 240 SunDeck in the 2002+ range considering my budget is about $25k. I read a lot of posts and am seeing a lot of great information. Will be using the boat in Barnegat Bay for day trips to Tices, LBI, cruising around through lagoons, tubing, and just...
Pog, if you're still looking for a place to get pumped out, check out Bob & Beth at C&C Marina in Bayville. They're just west of Buoy 39 in the bay, easy in/out.
Doing that and talking with marina. Need a sea trial also to determine which boat will be right for me. Lots say 5.0 in a 240 is underpowered, marina saying propped right the 5.0 is fine. Have to test for myself.
I'm talking to a guy about a 2002 240 with a 5.0, asking $17500. Just had all the necessary work done last year (manifolds, bellows, etc. to the tune of $3100). Talked with marina this week and they advise that the 5.0, propped right would be a fine motor for the bay and what I'm going to use it...
Thank you for the replies. Luckily for us we're not in any rush for a boat this year so we'll start looking in the fall pretty serious. I think after reading this forum the 270 or even a 290 will be perfect for us. More boat, more power, and most importantly, happy wife!
Great thread! I'm in the market for the same boat, and have been looking at a 240 Sundeck in Long Island but it has the 5.0 which I won't go for after reading these responses. Hadn't even considered a 270, but now I'll be watching for one. I'll be using the boat in the Barnegat Bay so want to...
Water's Edge is a great spot in Bayville to stop for lunch, but get there early so you can tie up to a buoy closer to the Bay. The restaurant gets crowded and some idiots anchor inside the buoys and hit your boat. They have a tender that comes out and gets you (for a small fee I believe). Food...
Hello all, stumbled upon this site by Googling SeaRay forums and it seems to be awesome.
Wife and I will be in the market over the winter for a used SunDeck to use for pleasure cruising, tubing, hanging at Tices Shoal, visiting friends, whatever! Had my search narrowed down to a 240 Sundeck...
