Every time I turn on my macerator pump it immediately trips the breaker. ...anyone know where the macerator pump is located on the 2000 Sundance 290DA? Also, anyone know what this part is? There is a 1" hose that runs from it to the overboard discharge seacock.
Jim, it's true that my motors say EFI, but my mechanic tells me that they are not "True Fuel injection motors." I guess I just assumed from his statement that they were a hybrid of sorts.
I don't run the blowers after a long run to cool the engines down, but if it was an engine compartment problem causing the issue wouldn't I assume that it would affect both motors equally. all ventilation hoses are intact and working properly. One thing I'm considering, per Ryan is that the...
I have the screw on canister filter as well. I also have tried opening the hatch, turning on the blowers, etc...but you are correct that the temps here in Florida don't offer much relief. However, I looked up the part number for the shield that goes around the fuel filter on the port engine...
Thanks for the response Ryan. Yes, I've tried to throttle up only mode, but it didn't make any difference at all. Your first comment is interesting. The fuel filter on the port has something that looks like a "sleeve" that it sits in. Is that sleeve supposed to catch fuel drips or could that...
Hey friends,
Thought I would see if I could get some insight into an issue with my 2000 Sea Ray Sundancer 290. The last few times out I've made some longer runs than normal...about an hour or so at roughly 3500 RPM's. Engines run flawlessly. Each time I've stopped for a short while to enjoy...
I'm reasonably sure it's the original pump/motor. The vacuflush head works perfectly, but the macerator side won't pump out...just trips the breaker. I guess I'm going to have to break down and call Sea Ray and see if they can give some guidance.
Anyone know a model number or style of macerator pump used in the 2000 Sundancer 290DA? When I turn my switch on to use the macerator pump for offshore discharge, the breaker for the macerator trips in about 1 sec. I'm assuming the pump motor is bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jeff, We've been to Silver Glen many times... but not this weekend as the boat is still with the mechanic. It's one of our favorite summer spots. We attempted to get back into the Springs a few weeks ago but no luck. The water is down in the St. John's River and the entryway to the Glen was...
Hey Sea Ray members,
My wife and I are going to be taking our first trip to Bimini from Miami during May... Just a few weeks away. We'll be taking our 2000 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 and our trip schedule will have us leaving from Bill Bird Marina in Miami Beach via the Bakers Haulove Inlet and...
Thanks, Captains!
Left my boat with the mechanic and will give him instructions to change those oil lines...and find out why my power steering reservoir is losing fluid.
Hey gang,
Hope someone can help. Last weekend we went for a long haul on the St. John's River...across Lake George and my 2000 Sundance 290DA (twin 5.0 EFI) ran beautifully. On the way back we stopped for a short spell to swim in the lake and I opened up the engine hatch and saw a lot of...
Just a thought. I also had a similar problem when I bought my Sea Ray Sundance 290. Had a little bit of water in the bilge with a "green-ish" oil floating on the top. The water intrusion was from a cracked shift cable bellows. Replaced and took care of the water leak. Discovered that the...
