Hey Everyone,
I am looking for the largest boat i can fit into my budget (Thanks CSR Members for that advice). What i am finding is that i can get the boat i want but it is always a salt water boat. Fresh water boats are usually 30% more. I can go smaller and stay within my budget but i dont...
Hey everyone,
I have finally started boat shopping and have come across a nice 2001 Sundancer with twin 5.7 V8s. The engines have 1080 hours on them and the heads were rebuilt at 800 hours with stainless steal valves? I am planning on getting a thorough survey done on any boat I am looking at...
I am starting to look for our future family boat. Preferably a 98-2003 sundancer between 290 and 340. I will be boating in Cayuga lake out of Ithaca NY.
First question, should i avoid salt water boats? i have read a few posts on this site about it but they were from 8 plus years ago. The...
Hey Guys,
I will be on the market for a new to me boat next year and i am really struggling with what size boat i should go with. I want to be able to spend the weekend on it with my wife and 2 kids plus a dog. We will be cruising around the thousand islands (Alex Bay NY) area. i do want to...
Hey Guys,
i installed a new carter electric fuel pump this weekend. I wired it through a 3 prong safety oil pressure Safety switch. The power for the fuel pump is coming from the P terminal on the safety switch, the "I" terminal goes to the ignition switch and the S terminal goes to the coil...
Hey Guys,
i wanted to find out what the best way to drill and seal the holes in my transom. I picked up some epoxy and some 5200. I have to install a new swim platform bracket and mount my transducer.
Thanks Guys
This is the first time I have ever buffed my boat (only had it out of storage for 1 season since I bought it) I'm using buff magic and wow does it bring out the shine in a 30 year old heavily oxidized boat

hey Guys,
im getting my boat ready for splash day (May 17th) and i am curious about 2 things.
1-Do you guys have any suggestions for anchor locker organization? do you just keep the rope in a crate?
2-what is best for anchor rode length? 3-1, 5-1? I will be anchoring in a very deep lake...
Happy New Year Everyone!!
i would like your advice on the best way to add shore power to my boat. Currently i have a shore power plug on my boat and when i plug it into shore power i can see on the power panel that there is power. However, when i pull the panel off of the cabinet nothing is...
So I'm replacing my electric fuel pump with a mechanical. The problem is that I don't have the original fuel pump to get a part number. When I look online I find 4 different possibilities for a new fuel pump. Any advice on how I can find the right part?
thanks
I picked up my outdrive and this is what it looks like after an acid wash. I want to remove all of the old paint and repaint it so it looks nice. Is it pretty straight forward?
Thanks guys

Hey guys, I'm sure most of you feel like me and can't wait for spring/summer for boating. I went and paid a visit to my boat today to see how it's holding up with all of the snow we have had this winter, so far so good. When I got back home I started thinking/dreaming of setting anchor and...
Hey Guys,
i asked for a humminbird hdr 650 depthfinder for christmas and it gives you the opton for mounting it on the transom or in hull. i would rather mount it in hull, have any of you done this? do you think it will be as good as transom mounted?
here is the link to the one i want...
Ok I have no clue how to buy a new prop for my boat. I want to get a piranha 4 blade composite. I don't know what pitch or diameter I need. I want to get on plane faster, I don't mind losing some top end speed
what a sad day it was, the bottom and outdrive we covered in muck from sitting in the marina. on a side note when i pulled the plug little to no water came out which was awesome. so now it is off to get winterized shrink wrapped and stored. yesterday totally made me want to move south. :smt089
Wow that was awesome it makes it so much easier to relax on the boat when you are hooked up. It sucks that I found out about it at the end of the season but oh well. Here is a video from today.
This is is cayuga lake, my coworkers and I were working on our mobile office haha...
so i finally hook my boat to shore power and havent been back to it for a couple of weeks and now my batteries are dead. on the shore power control panel if i hit the test switch the reversed polarity light lights up......what does that mean?
Well I was hoping it was because of a full load but it happened again today. Idling around the temp is perfect even cruising at 2000 rpms is fine no overheating. As soon as I try to get on plane I start to overheat. So I back down on the throttle and the temp goes back to normal.
what do you...
