If you are tuning it up, replace the coils. I had a similar problem and the coils fixed it.

If you split the C80 screen the sounder becomes to small to do much good. It's alright to find a wreck or something large but if you are reading the bottom for fish it's to small. I love the Raymarine bottom machines.
