Two new problems (not huge but....)

Thanks. I found the pump, cleaned out the filter and thought with all the crap in it that would have been the problem. Turned it on and blew a fuse again I am wondering if there is restriction in the impeller. Might take it apart before I order another. I I know it's nice to have a trim...

Two new problems (not huge but....)

Finally got the motor on the "new to me" 2001 225 weekender running. This board has been so helpful. Now two new issues: 1. Fresh water is not circulating. Can't even hear the pump when button is pressed. I'm sure it's probably a broken pump but where is it and where do I get a new one. Or...

    Starter or slave or worse

I do hear the beeps and pump sound. By moving the shifter my memory is push the button on the bottom and move it forward for gas. Are you saying don't press the button and just leave it in neutral position?

Thanks Mike, I will test it again but it's off the shelf with an April 16 sticker. To that point when I turn the ignition what's my optimal battery reading on my dash? 12? Or greater?

    Starter or slave or worse

2001 weekender merc 5.0 220 hp. Worked last summer when my in laws had it. Brought it home today and nothing. No click no attempt at a click. New battery, checked fuses. Would love some input as well as where the starter and slave are located (seems like it should be obvious).
