That module did not fix it for me, however it does seem like it got a little better. The boat will plain out now to 3400 rpm vs before it only got up to 2600rpm.
Yesterday I went out and purchased a new ignition module that goes under the distributor cap thinking it may resolve my problem but still have the problem. It did seem to get a little better because now it will at at least plain out and hit 3400 rpm as to before it only got up to 2600rpm. I also...
sees like its still has the issue with a cold engine sometimes. But however after running it for a while it would be hard to start it back up until the engine cools off or even sometimes i cant get it to start.
I would just like to add that the rpm is fine when there is no load on it. I can rev the engine to 4600rpm in neutral. Would this module cause it to run like crap under a load but fine with no load if the module is bad?
Bottom is as smooth as a babies ass. Growth is not the issue, but read my latest post. Believe it or not I am a sort of marine mechanic work for a full service boat yard. SO you would think I know a thing or 2 except when it comes to these efi and mpi engines i am clueless.
Here is a bit of an update. Had a bit of time to kill today and decided to play around with the boat today. I decided to replace the spark plug wires with extra ones I had laying around and also replaced the ignition coil with a spare that I had as well. Both are not in new condition! Anyhow I...
my engine is a 1998 and it has a cool fuel pump on the side of the engine under the manifold which i had replaced. I dont think it has a high pressure pump ontop of the engine. But if it does then i would like to know
Hello all. Looking for some help as I am baffled to resolving my issue. I have a mercruiser 7.4MPI serial # 0L085399- MEFI3. I am having issues that when I go past 2000 rpm the needle on the gauge rapidly starts to jump from 2000 - 2200 -2500 and so forth its not a smooth increase in rpm like it...
Has anyone tried flipping the trim insert ( celery stick) in the forward position on a bravo 3 for a 270 dancer? And what did that help with ? Also is there suppose to be some kind of weather striping or gasket on the inside of the engine hatch?
I touch them at about 2000 rpm and as soon as i felt it i immediately raised the drive up. The propslooks good to me. Maybe a small nick on the edge but no major chunks missing or bent looking.
I was talking to a guy today who has the same boat and he has the back prop a 4 blade and front a 3 blade. Anyone hear of this being a thing? He says he gets 28mph at 3100 rpm and planes at 2600 rpm.
