Actually , we broke down just outside of Killarney. We limped into Killarney, talked to a tech there, and he told us we'd have to get it to LC. We spent one night at the Sportsman, then limped into LC on the port engine the next morning.
I wish we had more time to spend up there, but the...
I had the exact same thing happen on my Cruisers this year:
150' of water, we didn't hit anything.
According to the INS co, we hit something.
Total repair bill was $3400. My end of that was $880.00.
Took 3 weeks to get it repaired, and I was in the middle of no-where...
Well, our long-awaited trip is over, and more than a week too soon.
We hit something Wednesday while cruising in 150ft of water, between Tobermory and Killarney.
I don't know what it was, there was nothing on the surface at all, the water was as flat as a mill pond.
Cruising along at...
Leg 2: Sarnia to Goderich
Today's Leg: 99.6 KM
Total Distance: 187.3 KM
Took on 496.6 liters in Goderich.
Lake Huron was about as nice as you can possibly ask for today. Less than 1' waves, and those following. Sunny skies, about 20C or so. In otherwords...PERFECT.
Here's a shot the...
Leg 1: Lighthouse Cove to Sarnia. 87.59km
Left at 11am with very light chop directly off the bow, stopped in Marine City, MI and took on 204 gallons of fuel. Arrived in Sarnia at 230PM or so.
St. Clair River was a fun trip, as always. A few giant freighters for the kids to ooooh and aaaaah...
Fortunately, we were on a Yacht Club outing 15 miles away on Pelee Island.

Worth a phone call if nothing else.
Cheers,

OK then.
In my opinion, DRD Motorsports really hosed the guy that originally posted that his boat shipper got stuck, and then made the boat owner pay for the tow, despite the fact that he wasn't driving the truck.
I am not trying to be a smarty pants here, but I think that people need to...
Whisky Tango Foxtrot is pretty durned family friendly if you ask me.
I think by deleting the post you lost the ability to help people make informed decisions. If I was in the area of that particular service provider (and I am) I would want to know about his quality of service, or lack...
Formula offshore boat hits the break-wall outside our marina last night.
For the record, here is what they hit:
200m long, 5m wide, at least 3m high.
7 people on board, including 1 child, only minor injuries. Apparently alcohol wasn't a factor for the captain.
Here is the write...
OK, Here's the problem,
If there is ANY solid waste whatsoever, this thing just does NOT want to clear itself.
Attempts to flush it result in a fountain of waste, literally! Continuous plunging will finally clear it, but this is clearly not acceptable.
Water flow is good, but it seems to...
What is the law/courtesy required when 2 semi-challenged individuals are fishing in an 8' inflatable in the middle of the downbound channel of the Detroit river, and I am bearing down on them at 20 kts?
Keep in mind the channel at this point is VERY narrow and water levels are about a foot...
