Re: 420 DB Owners Club
bridge a/c (this was a huge undertaking since I have three helm seats; low profile unit is mounted under the U-shaped seating)
Hey Festivus,
Can you elaborate on the bridge ac? I also have the three helm seat option and was told that it was impossible to install air. How...
Now that's a great question. Absolutely love this boat. We are spending two nights a week on board and starting to wish we had a little more room. I'm somewhat concerned about losing some of the motivation to take her out as often though as the 44 is so user friendly and easy enough to single...
Hey that DA is gorgeous! If it were up to me I'd have a Sundancer in a second but my wife does not like going down into the saloon and my long coat chihuahua just cant do the steps. Thanks for the endorsement.

I heard a home repair guy on the radio yesterday saying that electric water heaters have anodes in them and when they are shot the water elks like sulphur and rotten eggs. I sanitize my 44db tank and lines every 10 to 12 months. I also put about 1/4 cup Clorox in each time I fill it. This has...
I have a 2007 44DB now and am considering moving up to a 52. I would appreciate any input from owners of either or both boats. Any issues to watch for on the 52?
Thanks in advance,

I have used shaft zincs for several years on my 44DB however I always have them installed when the boat is hauled and make sure the are tapped with a hammer and tightened securely. Have not lost one yet.
I have an '07 44DB. I bought her new and bought the "captains Package" extended warranty I believe. At any rate it was marketed as everything but the electronics. My question is this. Should the fresh water pressure pump and the pickup tube from the freshwater tank be covered under that...
You might have restriction at the water intake under the hull like I did. Take the cover off the sea strainer (generator off) and see how the water flows in. It ought to come in gangbusters. Mine had mussels, clams, etc. restricting the inlet. My diver didn't see or feel anything due to the...
Thanks a lot. We like her a lot. Best boat we have had thus far and I hope to keep her for a while. Not getting to use it as much as I'd like right now but cooler weather is just around the corner!
I am convinced that 90% of the problem is solar gain. We moved to a covered slip this Summer and it is amazing. I leave both units on 80 degrees with the fans set to intermittent when we leave the boat for the week. When we walk up to the boat the next weekend with Houston temps very near 100...
We had an insulated sunbrella cover made for the windshield. Makes all the difference in the world. What you're seeing is what we live with for four months out of the year in Houston....blazing hot sun. And that's exactly how our 44db acted until we replaced the mesh cover with the insulated...
My water tank indicates 3/4 and I'm pretty certain that it is near empty. I've owned the boat two years and it has always seemed pretty accurate however now there is definitely air in the lines as if the water level is low but the indicator doesn't go below 3/4. Any ideas? Can the pickup tube...
A while back there was something on here about Searay giving new drip pans to folks with rusty water in theirs. My forward unit on a 2007 44DB has a 1/2 inch of rusty water in it and I know it will be problematic down the road. Any help here will be appreciated.
Sincerely,

OK! This is my final post on this subject. After removing and reinstalling 6 thru hulls and the trim tab mounting plates along with the transom zinc I still had water coming in. During the most recent haul out the techs noticed a soft, damp area at the bottom of the transom between the port side...
