I am installing a pair of Fox Gateways on my 99 380. In the engine space, I have a Nema splice on the bulkhead from a previous installation. Can I install my Nmea T's in the splice connector?
We will be in the Mackinaw area on July 8th. Which marina do you prefer? Mackinaw City marina, or Straights Marina? Been there done that in the Island marina. Too lumpy.
Several years ago when the world was normal, I was using a texting system to get the wind and wave info off the weather buoys when we were traveling Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. I can't seem to find the info again. Have any of you used this system lately?
I've had my 99 380 for 4 years and in pursuit of more engine information I added Garmin fuel flow sensors but as we all know we all want more. I recently read about the Actisense EMU-1 analog to digital gateway. Have any of you had any experience with this...
I looking for a source for a battery box for my 4 group 31 batteries on my 380. Something like this. I already contacted this company and they don't make anything that big.

I just made my reservations for Charlevoix for next July. 3 years ago we made the trip without a reservation for Charlevoix and had no problem anywhere from Lake St Clare to Bay Harbor, but Charlevoix was full. Planing on getting there on July 11th. Let's hope for a great summer!
The other day, after a 4-hour run I stopped at the fuel dock and upon startup, I always check that I have good water flow. When I looked, I found soot in the water. The engine ran fine, but I did notice a sooty smell in the cockpit almost a burning coal smell. Any thoughts?
We are planning on traveling from Lake St Clair around the "Mitten" to the Petoskey, Charlevoix area. I'm thinking of stops in Port Austin, Presque Isle, Macinaw Island then Petoskey. Then a week in the area, (one of my favorite places in Michigan), and then home. Does this sound doable? Have...
Last fall, the last day before the boat went to sleep, I noticed that to get the engines to sync on the meter, I had to have the throttles uneven. Never had that problem before. I'm thinking fuel filters. Any thoughts?
Replace the steering fluid completely. How do I decide if I should have my helm rebuilt at the same time?

I'm also looking to upgrade my helm seat. Any suggestions? I'm thinking something like this.

There is always some water in the bilge in my 99 380 DA. Even when I manually run the bilge pumps, it never gets completely dry. I know the water comes from a very small oozing around the rudder packing, and I've tightened them down so it's almost unnoticeable. I found the Dry Bilge system, but...
This year we bought a RIB inflatable and a Merc 6 hp. We have loved having it behind our 380. What do you guys do for winter storage? Leave it on the swim platform and let them shrink wrap over it?

I got an email from Imtra, a high-quality marine distributor, and one of the new products is a trim tab replacement called Zipwake. The concept looks like one of those things we all should have thought about sooner.

Last week we went to PIB and arrived on Sunday hoping for an enjoyable week until Friday. We got a birth at the Crew Nest, and Sunday night the winds started. By Monday night it was done right uncomfortable in the slip. Tuesday was much better but the forecast was for thunderstorms and 20 knt on...
I have a Garmin 7212, and I had new ACTUATORS with sensors installed this past winter when the bottom was done, so I could read the trim tab position. The installer just this last week finally installed the last piece the Garmin GBT 10 which is the interface between the actuators and the NEMA...
Last year we bought our 1999 380 DA, and we do love it. In fact, we were anchored out at one of our favorites sitting on the bow, just enjoying the scenery and The Admiral said: "Buying this boat is the best thing you've ever done."
Fast forward to today. She works in a hospital and has to work...
