I forgot about the Outrigger and the karaoke bar. It is a pretty fun spot on a Sunday afternoon. There is one waitress that should be on American Idol. Another good spot along those lines is the Riverboat on the Mokelume. They have a live band on Sunday and some very good beers on tap...
We finally made the trip up to the meadows today for a lunch cruise. It is a very enjoyable spot for hanging out without any boat traffic to bounce you around. I'm adding it to my list of good spots to chill out. List so far:
- Big berm by Westgage landing
- Mildred Island
- Potato Slough...
Hi Guys, we cruised through the cove today and saw a LOT of boats in there. We didn't stop as it was a little packed and we weren't getting friendly looks. I hope you all had a great time. We sure did.
We plan to be out on the Mokelumne on Saturday with a trip to Guisti's in the evening. We'll try and find you sometime in the afternoon. Based on today's weather, it should be a glorious weekend.
We will be out at least 1 day that weekend and would like to connect with fellow SR owners. We are on on Bethel Island at Sugar Barge marina, but can pretty much be anywhere in the delta baring extreme weather. I am tentively planning a dinner cruise one night to Guisti's in Walnut Grove...
I finally got a chance to tow my boat with the new Schuck cushion hitch and I have to say it was well worth the price. All the stop/start clunking is completely gone and the overall ride is much improved. I would give this a bit thumbs up for anyone with towing symptoms described above.
1st, let me say this isn't really about my frugal nature. It is more of a convenience thing. I currently do not have a spare tire on my trailer mostly because we really don’t tow our boat anywhere. Our marina does all the launching and it’s about 500 yards from the dry storage to the launch...
NorCal, you described my exactly the jolt I get when starting starting up from a stop if I'm not careful. This is really noticable on uneven pavement. It's hard to say if this is all related to my tow vehicle since I've overhauled the entire trailer (actuator, brakes, bearing, etc.) and switch...
Hey Jermey, thanks for the reply. It does seem like my rig is banging around quite a bit on rough roads. I'm towing with a 2006 Toyota Tundra double cab 4wd. I haven't weighed it, but I'm guessing boat/trailer/extras are about 5,000#s. That should be well within the towing capacity of my...
I saw an ad in Trailer Boats for Schuck Cushion Hitches, "Engineered to absorb minor or major tongue thrust shocks". The basic design is polyurethane wrapping between the ball mount and the frame insert into the receiver. It seems like a pretty good idea, but wanted to check for some 'real...
Unfortunately, my story with Swimplatforms.com is not so good. I wanted to get a 4' 1/2 round platform like what is on the older 210 sundecks. In October 2007, I talked to Scott and he told me that they could build it, they just needed to find a boat like mine to measure. That sounded fine to...
Good to hear from other delta boaters. We have ours in dry storage at Sugar Barge marina http://www.sugarbarge.com/ on Bethel Island. Just waiting out the rain and looking forward to another great summer. Lots of great boating, exploring and dining in the delta.
If you want to try one without drilling holes in your outdrive, you might consider the Sting Ray XRIII. I have 1 on my 210BR and it definitely helps plane quicker & stay on a plane at a much lower speed. It installs in seconds (1 bolt to the anode) and it's pretty cheap. Only real downside...
I bought my boat last fall with 170 hrs. It was immaculately maintained, so the fact it was 8 yrs old didn’t bother me. I had planned on keeping it for a few years, then upgrading to a bigger/newer boat. Well less than a year later, I’ve put on ½ the original hours. At this rate I’ll...
Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll give both the guard and a new roller a try. I've noticed the guard on some of the new boats (Cobalt) and it doesn't look bad. I've also managed to get a few nicks and scratches in that 4" area around the eye, so I'm hoping to cover that up as well.
