    brunch at North Harbor Club.....

Port City has probably the easiest/best docking of any restaurant on the lake. The dock is well inside a long no wake zone and there's plenty of room to maneuver.

LKN levels to remain low through June

I thought the lake looked low - at least I know I wasn't imagining things :-)

    brunch at North Harbor Club.....

Ahh that makes sense; it would be fine with umbrellas I think. They didn't have any out when we went and it was pretty hot. Personally I like Port City club if I want something more than Blue Parrot type food. - super easy to dock there. Only downside is that it's a hike for me

    brunch at North Harbor Club.....

Supposedly the new place (Hello Sailor) is opening in June where the Rudder used to be

    brunch at North Harbor Club.....

Just tried North Harbor club for the first time the other day. Really nice place with items other than "bar food". It must get brutally hot outside on that deck in the summer though; it was really toasty when I was there a couple of weeks ago

    Winterizing and Springerizing...

At my marina I paid 500 bucks for a full winterization, oil change, gear lube change, impeller change and some greasing/lubing.

    First timer, 2001 sundeck 240

Thanks for the tip Lazy Daze - I'll ask the marina mechanic about that. He told me to just pull the 4 plugs I ended up pulling. I'll recheck the manual also.

    Batteries

I just turn my battery switch off and leave them in all winter. Haven't had any issues.

    Ethical or legal issue?

I certainly agree that I wouldn't involve myself (unless i happened to personally know someone thinking about purchasing said boat).

    First timer, 2001 sundeck 240

I have a 2002 Sundeck 240 with the 5.7 EFI (260 HP) and mine has the 4 blue drain plugs. 2 on the block (1 on each side) and 1 on the bottom of each manifold. FWIW - I had mine fully winterized by the marina (I dry stack) but I decided to splash early this year (end of february) since it was...

    Ethical or legal issue?

IANAL - but I'm pretty sure that's fraud. Not sure if the statutes cover boats, but most states have laws covering odometer fraud

Buying 24' Sundeck -- Gimbal Ring Replacement?

The 350 mag is the 5.7 MPI (not the EFI). The 5.7 EFI makes 260 HP You can see a list here (My WOT is like 4700-4800 rpm) http://www.rubexprops.com/boat-propellers/rpm-range/?make=Mercruiser

Lake Norman - When is it safe to "spalsh" the boat?

Finally got her back in the water today (late afternoon ended being beautiful). I can happily state that my first attempt draining the block and manifolds must have been successful :-)

Lake Norman - When is it safe to "spalsh" the boat?

If it doesn't rain Saturday it's supposed to be close to 70..... one can hope :-)

As they say in like a lion !!! Oh well.

It's even been freaking cold down here in North Carolina. We actually had some SNOW last weekend (March snow is not common here).... granted it melted in a few hours.

Buying 24' Sundeck -- Gimbal Ring Replacement?

I have a 2002 240SD with a 5.7 EFI in it (a bit unusual... most are 5.0 MPI or 350 mag). It has plenty of power... I can pull tubers with 8 people on board with no issues and I hit about 48 mph WOT on a good day. I think the 5.7 EFI and 5.0 MPI have the same 260 HP (although the 5.7 EFI makes...

Lake Norman - When is it safe to "spalsh" the boat?

Man, it's unseasonably cold! I'm sure glad I drained my block and manifolds after I de-winterized.

    New 320 Sundancer

The newer sea rays are certainly nicely appointed... but I am not a fan of the "boxy" look (or whatever one would call it). I suppose the "boxier" bow gives you more seating room (esp for bowriders)... but something just looks off about it (like someone from one of those Michael Bay...

Lake Norman - When is it safe to "spalsh" the boat?

The Blue Parrot opened last weekend (they usually open March 1st, but they opened early this year since the weather is so nice)

Lake Norman - When is it safe to "spalsh" the boat?

I think I'm splashing tomorrow (I may pull the plugs when I come back to finish up spring detailing on Saturday as some of you suggested)... this weather is just too nice. Time for our first of many trips to the blue parrot :-)
