It has always been my biggest complaint! My very first post in the "official 240 thread".
I look around in the marina I belong to, and when I see a Rinker, Maxum, etc. of the same size as my 240, with a windlass, or even an anchor roller, I say...WTF was SR thinking?
I have two. One on each side.
Here you go:
For those who are going to ask, those are 2 cup holders on the right side of the pic held on with double-side tape. A great $5 each investment at a local marine store. (The tape is on its third year and holds bottles and cans with no problem.)...
That is a Perko rod holder and is mounted in front of the navigation light receptacle.
That will cost you extra $ to install. There is another mount I saw on West Marine website that attaches to a rail.
The grill mount I use is the Magma POW’R GRIP Fish Rod Holder Mount
Good Luck...
Here's a pic of my set-up. I thought I posted it here before, but, here it is again.
When not in use, I store it below under one of the seats.
Check out West Marine for a variety of mounts and grills.
Yeah, after doing more research I found that 1141's are the same as 1156's so now I am really confused as to why they don't work. I am wondering if the bases aren't long enough to make contact, who knows! :(
So my son runs a small lighting company mainly based for cars and I told him I wanted LED's for my boat.
He installed (2) 1142 White LED's up top and I love the look of them but down below they are 1141's which look identical to 1156's. He does not carry 1141's but everywhere we have looked...
My brother rented a ozone generator when his boat caught fire. Tried everything else before this. Never knew there was a fire after using that!

Good luck!
So I'm looking to take a trip from Albany to NYC this summer, along with a few other boater friends.
I'm looking for tips, points of interest, places to visit, dinning, etc. Statue of Liberty a must see with marina near by for over-nite.
My parents will be riding with my wife and I. Looking...
I had a small leak around the drain in the head. Water would collect around the sump box.
I resealed and no leak. Might not be your problem, but worth a look. Dump a gallon jug of water on floor around drain, use a flashlight under step and look for leaks.
Good luck!
Umm...I know....I'm talking "outdrive"!
and to make a long story short..I know of a few 260's at my marina w/ 350mags and BIII
that can't plane for "you-know-what"! Yup...it's a heavy boat!
My advise to original question: don't worry about maneuvering around docks, you'll get it!
You...
I'm on plane with full load+ in under 6 secs.
In the words of my merc mechanic," damn, that thing pushes a lot of water!"
Mine's steel..no corrosion here!
I'm very happy with my BII
