    Chase Bank scam alert

Spoofing of CallerID is so dang annoying. I take a lot of incoming business calls on my cell phone, so I am forced to answer numbers I'm not familiar with. Nothing irritates me more than what appears to be a call from my local area code being some scammer or telemarketer who's nowhere close to...

What? I don't need to do no stinkin safety briefing.

Reminds me of the time we had another couple onboard and the woman was a true Diva. Within 2 minutes of leaving the dock, she asked if I could slow down because the wind was messing up her hair. Then she broke a fingernail and asked if there were any nail salons on the water that we could stop...

Boat financing help - may lose a deal

That's so different than my experience at PenFed. When I was shopping for my new boat, I called them because they were the lender on my current boat. I figured it would be easy to stay with the same lender and they had good terms etc. on the current loan (which was originated by my dealer)...

New Sea Ray tan upholstery- any feedback?

I typically see that called "soft touch" vinyl. I've been on several (new) boats that have it in the last year or so and it seems to stay cooler than standard vinyl. My new pontoon boat has small amounts of it as part of the contrasting trim color on the seats and I really like it.

    Lets get this thing started

That setup is SWEET! If I had that setup in high school, I wouldn't have had to worry about fogging up the windows in my dad's Lincoln when I was out on a date with my girlfriend!

    using RBC financial planning....

Since RBC is obviously a reputable group, and since you've developed a relationship over the years with "your guy", I'd be more likely to stay with the individual than try to break in a new guy! I know if my guy moved to another firm, I'd follow him because we've been together for years and he...

Sold the Sea Ray - Joined the Pontoon Revolution!!

After I bought my 195 Sport I joined this great forum and I've learned a lot. My 195 was the first boat I've owned in over 20 years, and it was great to be back on the water. As I suspected, I love it just as much now as I did back then. After almost two seasons of loving my 2008 Sea Ray 195...

Audio Out from TV to ?

If you'll give us the make and model of the TV, I'd be happy to do some research for you to help solve this issue. I'm also in the AV business.

Audio Out from TV to ?

The audio out jacks from the TV should be red and white. They should be going to the Audio (aux) input on the radio. Those RCA jacks should also be red and white. Sometimes you'll have to go into the TV settings menu and change the setup to use external audio instead of the speakers built...

    Official 19SPX/21SPX/SPX190/SPX210 Thread

My buddy and slip neighbor has the 19SPX with a mooring cover. I'm headed up to the lake in a few hours and will take some pics (unless he beats me to the lake and has his boat out!!).

    Favorite type of float.....

We use Noodles, PFDs and Overton's version of the saddle type. What I'm looking for is a floating cup holder that will hold a yeti 20 or 30 oz tumbler or a can in a Koozie.

When I empty my "personal holding tank" it get sucked into the Lake Anna Nuclear Power plant at a rate of 2 MILLION gallons per MINUTE!!! It comes out the other side about 14-15 degrees warmer! Here's today's stats from the "cold" and the "warm" side of our lake.

    Real candles on Boat

That certainly would be a "effective" way to check for fumes! KABOOM!

Color coded dock lines, the Admiral thinks I'm crazy...

White for my bow and stern lines, blue for my longer spring lines. Makes it easy when I ask a passenger to grab a line from the storage compartment.

    Real candles on Boat

Gasoline, Diesel, or under sail power doesn't matter.. If an open flame contacts a flammable item such as a curtain, napkin or something else that may have gotten blown or otherwise moved into the path of the flame the results probably won't be good.

    Bummer of a Sea Trial

I was always told to turn everything off when fueling because the bilge blower could potentially suck in fumes in the surround area. My routine is turn everything off while fueling, including the blower. As soon as I'm done fueling, I turn the blower back on for a couple of minutes before I...

Boat not ready for Memorial Day...Waiting on BBQ invitations.

We're sort of in the same boat (pun intended!). We seem to get less invites to weekend events than we did pre-boat. Our neighbors see us rolling out on weekend mornings and know we're headed to the lake, so they don't even bother to invite us to BBQ's, etc.
