    Not starting after initial run

Initially I could not idle. I had to drop back to the center and then quickly into gear. The idle seemed to be low. It would kind of sputter lowly. Dave I could not go to the link you posted. It said I did not have permission to view that page.

    Not starting after initial run

This week I put my boat back in the water for the first time this season. In December, I did my annual maintenance. I did not fog the engine. I filled up the fuel tank and added some sta-bil. I replaced the fuel filter. The engine starts fine when first launched. I run it for about 45...

    Pensacola / Fort Walton Area

You dont want to sell your boat. We have boated two seasons and love it. Your 185 will do just fine. I live in Pensacola. People tend to wakeboard in the bayous and a river, where the water is the calmest. On calm days, I take my boys wakeboarding in the intercoastal waterway. In Pensacola...

    Staying warm in FL

I do the same thing. Turn a light on at night. Unplug it when I get up. Also, pour about a cup of antifreeze (the marine kind) down your prop. That will help if you have any water sitting at the bottom of your drive.

Would a little sea doo sport boat be a good first time boat?

When I purchased a boat I was considering one of the Yamaha boat that have twin jet drives. They cost less and had a lot to offer. I asked around and was told to go with an I/O or an outboard. I did since I did not know much about boats and those who did was telling me to. I am glad I went...

Curious about sailing the ocean blue...

I mainly cruise in the intercoastal waterways. Most of the time I am within ten miles of the boat ramp. Sometimes I will take a day trip to neighboring cities, Destin or Orange Beach. I travel there in the ICW. I do go offshore for fishing. Most of the wrecks I fish are about three miles or...

    Cruise speed at night

For me, almost every time I cruise at night I am returning to a ramp from my initial destination. On my GPS, the last 50 tracks are displayed. While taking tide information into account, I can usually be assured that if I follow my track back fairly closely that I will not hit anything that is...

    Help sizing prop

Here is a previous thread about WOT level: http://www.clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21555 Here is an article that outlines how to measure prop pitch: http://www.propellerpages.com/?c=articles&f=2006-03-27_manual_pitch_measurement You are probably better off having a prop shop put it...

    Prop Puller Reccomendation?

You just need a prop wrench. I bought one of those floating yellow ones from west marine. That is good to keep on a boat, but not good if you plan on changing props several times on land. Get a metal one for that. I wish I had. The plastic one will strip. Or a deep socket, I think it is 1 1/4.

    Prop size question

Did your boat ever go faster than 4200? If not, I would think you are overpropped. I went through six props trying to find one that would run properly with my boat. There are going to be a lot of differences going from difference size props (not just pitch, but diameter) and from aluminum to...

Anyone replace the stock rear speakers on your 185 or 195 Sport?

You are right. I had it backwards. I would recommend looking through information on crutchfield.com. I noticed a kicker speaker that requires a 5 1/8 cutout. Another option is to place wood behind the cutout and screw into that. It should still look clean and you shouldn't even be able to notice.

Anyone replace the stock rear speakers on your 185 or 195 Sport?

I am very familiar with car audio. And a little knowledgeable on marine audio. Normally, speakers come in 5.5" or 6.25". The diameter of the cutout is usually a little smaller. If your cutout is 5.5" and not less, you will have to shop for that size speaker with a large lip or go for a 6.25...

    Prop on 2000 180 br

Just to give you an idea, I have a 21p enertia (3 blade). My four blade rev4 is 17p. Both reach the proper RPMs. I would find a friend with a four blade, near 17p and test run it. Or find a prop shop that will let you run one for free or a small fee. My four blade pushes me on plane in half...

    Boating in the ICW

around here, people with open cooling systems normally do not leave their boat in the water for that amount of time. personally, i wouldn't leave mine in for more than two days. you will need the muffs to flush the engine. salt away seems to work good. a kit of that is only about $15. you...

    Burning up clutch

I fixed the problem! Bought a 08 F150 with an automatic transmission. Man it handles that boat like a toy.

    Engine making rushing air sound

On my boat there was a part that has failed twice. I can't remember the name of it. Something like the startup valve. It feeds extra gas to the motor during startup. When the engine reaches operating temp, it should stop. When it is open, the engine will make a hissing type noise. With...
