Yes, the shades were installed by the previous owner. Don't know who makes them, but they work great. Slide one way and they are screens to keep the bugs out, slide the other way and they are privacy shades and really keep the cabin cool by blocking the sunlight.

Correct, there are no boat slips on the island. There is a boat ramp and day docks on the Kiawah river, in the private Vanderhost area. I am thinking only open to home owners, but perhaps you can gain access as a renter.
