    Official (1982-1988) 270DA Thread

I just changed the oil in my 228HP 305 motors. The oil filters are a pain to get to as I get older. Has anyone installed a kit to relocate the filters?

That looks like the correct part. Let me know if you cannot locate one.

I think most of the lights were from Attwood. Try calling 616-897-9241 or 616-897-2225 (Jamie) Its been a few years but Jamie helped me with most of my lighting problems.

    Replacing cabinet inserts

I started replacing some of the laminated boards on our boat. I carefully removed the teak surround of each panel. I bought a 4x8 sheet of laminated birch plywood. I then cut the Birch panels to the same exact size. I used a stain called Zarn for matching to teak wood. I stained the plywood...

    side windows leaking

Like mentioned above the flocking is mainly for the window to slide in. Make sure the drains are open. The seal that wraps around the lower portion of the window is more than likely the problem. I just cleaned that area up on my boat. If you push in on the window you will see the seal pull away...

What is this panel? 1989 SD 268

Like stated above, it looks like a panel for a spotlight.

    1982 270 Sundancer

I'm having the interior recovered in the cabin. I did not want to replace either the carpet or the headliner. They are in good shape and I want to keep it to one project at a time. The aft cabin design was not working for us or our kids. I think it was a bad design from the beginning. The little...

    1982 270 Sundancer

I figured I would start a build/update thread. My first little project is figuring out the gel coat color. Anybody know what color this is? Photo Bucket is not working correctly so I can only load one picture right now.

    My $500 270DA.

I have cut all new foam for my aft cabin. If you want any of the smaller pcs you are more than welcome to have them. I think I can ship Spee Dee to you for next to nothing. I'm doing my aft differently than what is factory. Looks like things are coming along great. Make sure your carb goy seals...

To the best of my knowledge it is all factory interior. I took pictures but have not had time to upload them to photobucket.

Same flip flop bench. My back cushion is not as thick but looks to be the same seat. The PO moved the seat towards the front of the boat to leave some room for your feet to rest.

    My $500 270DA.

I will try to get a picture of my aft cabin cushions this week. They are out of the boat for recovering. I am planning on a different cushion layout for the aft cabin. My kids sleep back there and it is always used as a bed and not as a seating area. It's to small to sit back there anyways. If I...

    My $500 270DA.

The helm interior is an exact match to my 1982 270 interior. The pads in the v-birth come out in my boat by pushing a fabric button to the side and poking a Phillips head screwdriver in.

    88' 268 Flooded Engine Compartment

I had a similar problem about ten years ago. I ended up replacing both starters, both solenoids, and one alternator. One motor took on water. I changed the oil and filter three times and then changed out the plugs. Like mentioned above make sure to pull plugs and spin the motor over to clean out...
