Good point on venting. The 2000gph pump doesn’t appear to have a vent hole like the small pumps but it looks like they vent around the base clip area. I pulled my off and cleaned the area then pump primed instantly.

Hi Grant, I have had the exact failure on the sump pump on my 48 (two weeks ago) as well as on another pump in the bilge on the same boat and my previous 44DA. I’m convinced that the Rule pumps don’t handle contaminated water for any period of time. In each case, I had to replace the pump to...

It should snap back with the heat on and the screw removed as you slide the coil off the valve. For reference, try this on one of the units that still works.

I’m going to blowout the circuit with air pressure (just make sure there is nothing causing a blockage and then planning on adding a second check valve. This one really bugs me as well.

    Starboard drive low hydrolic oil

I have a 2009 48DA with Zeus. I brought around Labor Day last summer and ran it from the western MI.

    Starboard drive low hydrolic oil

I’m at MacRay and do have pods. I have not had any issues to date with the actuator seals but do know that Bob has done a few. I’m sure he will get to taken care of in short order.

    Starboard drive low hydrolic oil

Based on you repair log, it doesn’t appear that anything was done with steering actuator seals. Are you working thru Colony or Bayview Yachtcrafters for Zeus work?

@Shaps On the heat issue, check the reversing valve coil. I had two of them fail in the 12 months and then heat will not work.

@ocgrant did you have any luck solving the water issue in the mid ship bilge? I launched mine yesterday after being indoor winter stored (bilge was completely dry) and after quick ride to my slip, I have water again with no water trail. I did change the bilge check value last season but still...

@ocgrant I believe I read in an earlier post that you had moved to a Water Witch switch in the sump box. Did this help reduce the number of times you need actually access the sump box for cleaning? Guess curious as I just install the Water Witch.

    Delta vs DTX Anchor

I believe the difference between the DTX and Delta anchors is the grade of stainless steel. The DTX is 316 SS while is listed as a “high tensile stainless steel” (I have not been able to determine actual grade). I do know the Sea Ray used the DTX anchors on the newer 510DA.

    420 DA Thread

I ran a 2006 44DA with QSC 500 for 4 years and now have a 2009 48DA. Both boats run great but the space/layout is noticeably different. The 44 ran 30-31mph at 75/76% load burning 38gph with 4 blade Acme props. I had a hydraulic platform with a dinghy (20hp four-stroke) which would slow it...

I’m having the same problem and now believe it’s possibly a bad check valve on the bilge pump as there is no evidence of any water trail.

Has anyone removed the salon AC on a 44DA? If so, how did you do it? Thanks in advance.
