Figured out that the little cubby hole box could be removed to give me ample access to that area. There was no way I could only work within that little hole. So I got it all figured out. Put it all back together, sealed everything up, and then the valve is in backwards. SMH So, the hot...
Popped right off.
The trouble I had was the fact that the valve housing was only held there by the face plate screws, so as soon as I removed the screws, the whole valve body fell down where I could barely reach it.

I called them this morning and it turns out I have a Europlus model. I sent the guy a photo and he sent me the installation manual, and it turns out the handle separates toward the wall and there is a 3mm allen screw in the underside. Now I just need to get a 3mm allen...
I am looking at this Grohe handle and trying to figure out how to remove the handle so I can get to the mixing valve. It has a sleeve behind the rotating handle, but the sleeve also rotates and it has a little hole in it. I have been poking around in there to see if maybe there is an allen...
