I fired up my Navionics+ card in my a series Raymarine, and there is a banner across the top of the screen that says "Not for Navigation". Is this standard lawyer injected CYA, or does it really mean don't run your autopilot from this chartplotter?
Maybe they want to scare me into a Garmin MFD...
Windy weekend until Sunday. Didn't get out to try to run them up. I have 2 small issues to deal with.
I think the Starboard battery bank is done, so disconnecting all and load testing them.
The port (newly built) engine is bleeding oil from somewhere when under pressure, even though the gauge...
Excellent explanation, thanks. The FPR was out of play as discovered yesterday after getting back to the dock. Could have been off when I was setting IAC value at idle, and or timing as well. The hose popped off the nipple on the FPR but didn't move, so I did not notice it until visual...
yup Trying again probably Friday. That's the port engine. Stbd still running out of throttle at 2000, so I've still got something going on there. I was surprised the advance was in the 30s at half throttle. Gonna grab a non Chinese timing light to see if this one's just crap.
meh.......
I will clean my bilge when I get done.
Look at the timing advance at less than half throttle! I thought they were set, but time to check again.

I just ordered the physical card and got the discount. 100 bucks for the card, and subscription. (US South) At that, it's still double what it is on a personal device. With Axiom, you can stream the iphone/andriod screen to the plotter, but at a series, it won't work. I am looking into...
for your viewing pleasure. I suggest that you download the 225 MB zip file into its own folder, unzip and then use folder tools to play all videos in the folder. They are numbered in order.
gotta go replace steering ram end seals on the cat. Maybe tomorrow am...
Agree, except, if you grab the cam for the secondary and move it, you will also move the primary. If you move the primary cam, the secondary cam doesn't move until "half" throttle, as it should. I am seeing a bit of play in the linkage, so I believe there is some adjustment for the secondary...
Tactic for this am. Plug the throttle body in to the harness by itself. Set the primary idle screw to get the correct TPS volt/percent. (ignition on, no start). Put it together and see where I am. If any adjustment, do it on the secondary knowing it will move both butterflies. Head for IAC...
Update:
Messed around with the strategy of adjusting the throttle body secondary idle stop screw to get the IAC to be 40 counts, while the TPS is reading 0%, while the engine is idling warm. I could take the IAC to zero, OR, nearly full, and setting anything in-between, it just hunted around by...
only if the RPM is off. Frequency meter. I have a full time freq and voltage meter in my dash to monitor it. I have an electricity monitor that I plug into an extension cord to have it near the genset when adjusting. If you are at 55 volts, I'm still betting on the cap(s).
Patience, Grasshopper. Uncle Joe is moving kinda slow.......
Built my 1/8" socket driver last night. Waiting for a decent hour to fire them off this morning. I can reach the secondary throttle stop without removal of anything (barely).
Read up. You'll need to remember what connector went to which terminal, and how to adjust it for the correct exciter voltage. In my case, the cap had just changed value, and the circuit had changed value enough that I had to experiment with different sized caps to get the right voltage. 5...
capacitor. Only half the coil is getting excited. If you are not intimately familiar with your genset, leave it to a pro, but not one says to just turn up the governor. You HAVE to maintain 1800 rpm to get 120v and 60 hz. Period.
Search for 7.0 BCG Westerbeke here, and you'll find manuals...
Not impossible, but downright inconvenient. TPS adjustment even worse. facing down. this is what I meant about devising some special tools to get access while in place. Off to get scans this am, and then maybe back on it this afternoon. I also found the OSO explanation of the relationships...
