This is the new generator floor with fiberglass top and bottom to add strength and durability. I also added 1/4 inch starboard to the bottom of the generator skegs to allow it to slide out easier when it's time to replace the raw water impeller again.
The original plywood base seem to only have at best epoxy paint on it and it didn't last. I think with a layer of chop strand mat and 1708 both top and bottom will last it at least another 25 years plus will help it slide better when I pivot the generator in or out to get at the impeller next...
I'm in the middle of the same problem with the generator floor replacement and plan to do marine ply fiberglassed on both sides. I'm assuming that will Make it stronger and allow the generator to pivot easier when it comes time to change the impeller.

Upon winter haul out this season I had them remove the perfectly good generator so I could replace the Rotting floor the generator and the batteries sit on. has anyone done this?
In the meantime I pulled out the ice maker under the stairs because the whole floor under the stairs was completely...
I can't find a drain in the trunk that holds the electric and water connections and between water splashing in the oval scupper at 7-8 knots and an occasional dripping water connection I seem to have a constant 1/2" of water in there.
Does anyone know of a fix?
