I found a nice use for the old tube tv space on my 99. Low profile Vitifrigo ice maker. Nice addition to the cabin.

I upgraded my electronics and have good operational used items that need a home. If you see anything you might need, drop me a note. Raytheon R41, Raychart600, Raypilot 650, Ray210 VHF, KVH TracVision.

All of my cabin and bathroom doors have this mechanism inside them. I swapped the bad one from the bathroom for the laundry room for now, as that is the one least in need of a lock. There is no manufacturer name, nor part number on it anywhere. The brass trim piece over the latching mechanism...

Anyone know where to find these door lock innards. I’ve been looking everywhere all day and have gotten nowhere.

    New Electronics

So after an unfortunate mishap with a bridge, I decided on new electronics. Taking delivery this week. So far, looking good. Anyone else do this recently?

    Planning Stereo Upgrade

I replaced my Sony head unit with the Fusion 750. I absolutely love the upgrade due to the 4 zones and multiple inputs. It is a true audio/video management system. Say I want to keep music sound to one area so as not to annoy neighbors, easily done. Say I want to play the sound from the TV...

If you install a floating application, it is not terribly difficult to disassemble and re-assemble- just like putting together a large puzzle. If you number the sections, it is pretty easy.

Has anyone replaced the flooring in the salon, going from carpet to wood? If so, I am looking for advice. I am trying to decide if it is worth doing myself or contracting out. If you did it yourself, did you remove the sofa and/or the island off the kitchen and put flooring under, or just...

Thanks for the info. The Reverso took forever to pump 60 degree oil in. Hot used oil coming out went very fast. 8 gal each side filled the blocks midway between the marks. Oddly, I filled my 10kw Westerbeke generator with 4.75 quarts as the maintenance manual stated and it was grossly overfilled.

I am about to change the oil in my CAT 3196 engines for the first time: First question: Where are the the oil filler tubes for each block (are they white tubes forward ship on the blocks, port with red cap, starboard with green cap)? I ask only because what I have identified are not marked as...

I just recently got back the results of transmission oil analysis and found elevated levels of copper and iron. The report suggested it could be related to the cooler core leeching/failing or sintered bronze disc. It said to check filters for larger debris (they were discarded before the...

Has anyone had to take the Bose sound system out of the old tube TV cabinet in the salon? The display has gone bad on mine and it appears that Bose will service it, so I was going to send it in. However, when I tried to pull it out of the wooden housing at lay-up, it was firmly bolted to...

Thanks for all the info on the W/D. After being told by a technician that it was likely the motor or the control board, I located one of each used on-line for him to install (they do not make either anymore). He came to repair it and found that the wiring harness to the motor had apparently...

I have the original Raytheon electronics onboard and my autopilot is acting up. It makes violent turns without reason while locked on to a heading. The technician who I am working with has told me to locate the compass unit on the boat so that he can help me troubleshoot it over the phone...

Also, I had previously asked about removing the washer dryer combo. Has anyone physically removed it from the boat and replaced it with a new one? If so, how did you go about doing it? It does not fit through the door to the room that it is in. Not sure if it will come out through the...

I had asked about height before regarding bridges in the Chicago River. For the record, with radar and satellite TV dome, you will not clear the Michigan Ave. bridge, which is the lowest clearance bridge downtown. With that removed/tilted back you will clear by inches.

I placed an order for the IsoBoost today- about $3500 shipped to me. This seems like the best solution. There were other cheaper manually adjustable solutions from Charles Marine, but they leave the door open to a voltage spike frying my equipment.

Sadly, I have had a new problem surface.... I have 208V service at my marina. This has slowly caused all the AC units, the refrigerator, freezer and ice maker to shut down (most likely fail safe mode and will reawaken with proper voltage). Has anyone dealt with this issue? My marina has...

Also, it appears that the belt fell of on the washer/dryer combo. I cannot figure out how to get the unit out of the wall to get at the back of it. I do see that you can partially reach the back of it reaching over and behind the AC unit under the salon stairs. Any tricks to this...
