I have 3 wires on my standard float switch... one is the negative and the others are positive (auto on fed from battery and the other from a switch on a panel). I had to check a few of mine as thought they had stopped but need cleaning from time to time.

i have the same issue.. the guy i got the boat from has said the holding tank was emptied and the sensors failed but when i flushed i got a bad smell of cheese so flushed some cleaner through it and found the tank was full to the brim.upshot was i got the tank emptied and flushed fresh water...

good to know about the novus polish... i have just ordered a pack as am currently trying to remove the salt etching on one panel and restore the rest.i may have to replace the one panel but as these covers are only a year or so old they have been badly maintained by the previous owner.

i changed mine as soon as i got the boat and it made a difference to the appearance straight away.i got the southco ones as were easy to swap over and more by lck as didnt look at the manufacture name haha.the plastic latches look cheap imo.
