thanks for your input gents. Hull and engine survey is in the cards. I was under contract on a 37 hatteras with DD 671N 1of the engines has issues found during the engine survey. Yes costly but far cheaper than a $15K engine rebuild.
So will be looking at a 84 390 sedan bridge gasser and a 87 390 express with 3208 cats.
I'm looking for real world opinions of dock talk.
Are stringers on sea rays really a big concern on older boats?
Next are aluminum fuel tanks cause for concern for leaking?

If at Pleasant Harbor the marina is now owned by the county and that may explain why they don't really care if they get the work or not. If at Scorpion Bay it is odd they turned work away.
Where I understand that boat is currently in heated storage and they won't begin launching for 2 weeks. And I first requested quote a month ago. It would be easier if I could swing by and talk to them but I'm in Az. and boat is in OH.

At RPM and MPH at cruise and hull speed would be nice.

My thought was would I spend that kind of money on a thruster for a 340 with twins. First thought was no.
Then I went back to my #1 rule. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Your boat your money GO FOR IT.

I would hope the survey will let me know if boat has any intrusion issues. Of course I appreciate the caution.
My question on hull was directed more at structural integrity. Boat will spend part of the year in the Sea of Cortez.
