It does where the Seatalk wire comes from. Data travels over the wires bidirectional. RayMarine makes a box that convert NEMA 0183 to Seatalk and the other way as well. I forget it's name but you can find it on RayMarine's site.
when my engines were replaced the risers were not properly angled an so water could get back to the turbo chargers causing the to fail. Could this be the same issue with your pitted cylinder wall?
Is it an inverter or a charger? While you are away why would you want an inverter on, after all it will drain your batteries creating 120 volts AC. On the other hand, if it is a charger then you can leave it on all the time, so long as you are plugged into the shore power.
Thanks for the great pictures. Salt 'n Sand and us are just finishing the Great Loop and your pictures brought back some memories of places that we visited. At the bottom of the Wilson Lock we lost our GPS and our antennas are some 20 feet above the water level. As the water started to come...
Based upon the number of boat builders that have shut their doors in New Jersey, the industry is either dead or on life support. The export market is keeping Viking alive.
Went into the inlet and up to Belmar Marina. There were two bridges that had to be opened the bridge tenders worked together and the trip was smooth but the current in the river are very strong so be careful anchoring.
Does it smell like roten eggs, if so it could be from the water sitting in the lines too long. You might also notice the smell disappears if you get water from a different marina.
A friend of mine had his E120 fail. It initially was thought to be the back light. It turned out to me much more after he sent it back. Raymarine fixed it quickly and got it back to him. It turned out to be the power board, screen and backlight. I think it was about $1,800. It turned out...
If you have vibration, that is not good and if bad enough ithe vibration will lead to a lot of other damage. Only you know how bad it is. If you are concerned get it taken care of.
You could try Costa Canvas, they do work for Viking. Also Superior Canvas. Both will come to the boat and make the canvas you need. I've used Superior they do good work as does Costa
I have older Raymarine equipment and had to purchase an inface box wo link the Chartplotter to the VHF and to the computer for passing routes from the computer to the chartplotter. It workd great
Don't hid behind emails, call the guy on the phone or better yet go see him. The next question is how do you want the guy to treat you in the future. You do not want to win this battle and lose the war. Politely let him know that "he owes you" and I bet you will collect more in the future...
If you are staying close to Harmon Meadows, you can take the NJ Transit bus into the Poert Authority Bus Terminal in New York City. From there you will have access to the NYC Subway system and you can go all all over the city. The buses run with great frequency even on the weekend. The Red...
The only problem with that health care system is that you need to buy an airplane ticket to get-----Soooooo is it really free? Either way I guess it is not free.
One school of thought is that they should be replaced when they about 40% gone. I am in salt water and that works out for me to replace them once a year.
At least Charlie only killed 8 people, I wonder how many lives Gore's policy's have made miserable or ruined? They have little in common, Charlie would have loved to have had the Gore impact.
