She will do about 33mph at 4200 rpm now and never heat up didn't leave her there long but did cruise lake at 3600 mid 20s with no problems planes out at about 3200

All good now changed prop water intake right above it on OMC old one was rough caused water flow problems when cruising did check timing 10 degrees at idle and advanced with RPM

Its a pretty big undertaking to change from an omc do a search on converting omc to mercruser I just repared the stringer drive on mine

I have a 77 all original OMC 235 hp with 800 stringer out drive sterndrive.info has all the parts for OMC including complete rebuilt units mine even has the electric shift runs good but I do all my own work mechanics tend to only want to work on the new stuff
