    Davey Jones Locker

Beautiful day here. Head down to the marina to winterize the boat in her slip. Calm seas - sunny. Not even a spot of wind. Lift out the central hatch to get to the engine (the hatch that has my table permanently stuck to it). Jam it in place against the back seat as always standard operating...

    water heater elbow broken

Looks like the plumbing is a predecessor to PEX. Home Depot was super helpful and sold all the bits to convert it over to PEX and restore the connections

    water heater elbow broken

As pointed out - to reiterate that is the elbow connection, not part of the heater. It isn't a standard thread so a plumbing store isn't an option. Boat store says mystery thread Asking again if anyone knows part number or part supplier , replacement or workaround thx

    water heater elbow broken

Howdy... elbow that feeds the water heater broke. Local marine store very confused. Ideas on where to get the part? It's for the inlet. Not part of the heater. It's part of the plumbing but appeara to be a unique thread? 1993 270DA

    legs when docked

    Thanks

Boat prices coming down? looks like it.

Prices still increasing here. Also parts next to impossible to get. Slips non existent.

    legs when docked

General consensus seems to be down. Was just thinking out loud hoping there might be less critters growing closer to the surface but the potential damage to the rams worries me the most.
  10. Black Valkyrie

    legs when docked

There's nothing wrong with the vessel from a technical perspective. The drives are submerged when up. That's sort of the end of the story.
  11. Black Valkyrie

    legs when docked

Sure - but where the boat is moored anti fouling paint is, again, is more or less useless. Now - the old copper based products were great but any of the new eco garbage is exactly that for this neck of the woods/ocean. It's wonderful that some people have positive results in other oceans and...

    legs when docked

Again, the legs are still submerged if in trailer mode.
  13. Black Valkyrie

    legs when docked

That's a good consideration since I have new rams
  14. Black Valkyrie

    legs when docked

This is about as effective as the TSA or a Covid vaccine.
  15. Black Valkyrie

    legs when docked

Yes they will still be in the water.
  16. Black Valkyrie

    legs when docked

She is finally back after having the hole in the leg welded. Will have to find a new leg over the winter but at least we have a temporary fix. Since she lives moored in the water (ocean) I started wondering if there is any difference in growth on the legs if they are up or down? I've always left...

need a starboard lower gear housing... anyone able to help?

Yes... in mid checking there. There are two housing for lower gen 2. Currently have found the wrong one twice.

need a starboard lower gear housing... anyone able to help?

Thanks... fyi I don't think it's fair to assume that repairing the hole makes it "ghetto"... there are some pretty talented welders out there. If it can be reasonably rehabilitated I'd go for that. Will look into the sei units as well.
  19. Black Valkyrie

need a starboard lower gear housing... anyone able to help?

Thanks - wanted an OEM mercruiser unit... not SEI.
  20. Black Valkyrie

need a starboard lower gear housing... anyone able to help?

Looks like someone clipped our boat and punched a hole in the starboard lower unit. Can't prove anything so we are SOL on insurance. No one has any stock til the fall for a new one. Anyone have a line on a lower unit or the housing and we can transfer the guts over and be on our way? Checking...
