Hello - I have a 2009 280 Sundancer and the Glomex gain control dial does not appear to turn on...can someone let me know where the amp is located so that I can check all the connections? thank you.
My '09 came standard with the electric lift hatch...I think Sea Ray put them on the '08 and '09 models, as I recall seeing an '08 with one, as well. Interestingly enough, my '09 also came with standard teak flooring, which looks great. Sea Ray added some nice touches in the final year of this...
That was my setup with the HDS8 that I sent to Jason. Here is the RAM mount that I used...RAM-111 universal mount. http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResu...9/Default.aspx. The HDS8 is a little larger and heavier and I tried a couple different RAM mounts, but this one worked best and provided...
I had a Sea Ray SS flush mount rod holder installed which I use for the BBQ. The space is tight underneath, but this is about the only place where it fits nicely.
Yes...I've never had an issue even in very choppy water. I have a fairly large charplotter with 8in. display, and it holds it tight. You can get different sizes of mounts depending on your chartplotter size/weight. You can find more info here...
I looked at twins in the 280, but actually found the 496 to be plenty of power. We also went with new in order to get DTS, which is a nice feature. I've had up to 7 people onboard so far and had no issues getting on plane. The boat cruises nicely and economically around 28-32 mph. At 3600...
I was thinking the same thing as Bill, as we've racked up 74 hrs on our '09 280 that we only purchased on 5/31/09. I had the 20 hr service done only 3 weeks after picking her up and at this rate, I'll have to have the 100 hr done in the next few! We've been fortunate with a great summer this...
Raymarine and Garmin are both great units....I've owned a Raymarine in the past and I've heard that the Garmin's are probably the easiest to use. I went with the new HDS line for a couple of reasons, but one of the key selling points was their new low-energy broadband radar. We've been up in the...
We boat in the same area and got one of the new Lowrance HDS-8 units with sonar. It's kind of big, but I unmount it when I'm not out on the Puget Sound, since we do a lot of boating on Lake WA. The screen is very bright and crisp and I was impressed by the new broadband radar capabilities.
We purchased the Premiere warranty on our 2009 280 to offload some risk as was previously mentioned....it turns out if you purchase as time of sale, you get the 6th year free, but otherwise, you have up to one full year from date of purchase to decide (though it then is only good for 5 yrs)...
I recently installed the HDS-8 w/ 80/200 Transom Transducer and Insight....the unit works great and I've been very pleased with the sonar detail. We installed the ducer on the transom....was not aware that it could go in the bilge, too. I didn't know that Lowrance has a shoot-thru for these...
I think we got all the hot weather here in the pacific northwest...it's about 105 in Seattle right now. :smt001 We bought our 280 last month with 0.9 hrs on her and we've already racked up 57.5 hrs!! Mostly going out on Lake WA after work often and several nights out on Puget Sound. Blue...
