Took me a couple years to pull the trigger but after a warning tone a couple weeks ago (that left us slowly returning to the launch from 15 miles away) I thought it was time. Ordered the Mercmonitor and extension cable from an Ebay seller. You also need a male to male plug to join them...
Figured out the manufacturer is Hawkeye and ordered just the transducer direct. Hope it fits.

Last weekend my friend noticed that my bilge pump was pumping water more then usual (never). I suspected the cooling system hoses were not tight and water was leaking into the bilge. After testing it at home there was no water. Finally figured out the through hull transducer is letting water...
Last year with the river so high and the St. Croix closed well into July we visited "the donut hole" a lot in the early summer. It's very popular and since you can tent on the island it's a low key party most weekends.
Checked it out on Saturday and the Army Corps looks to have pushed the...
Just got my 2012 190 out of storage and have been considering adding a Mercmonitor gauge. Has anyone installed this on a 190? Will it fit in the dash without modification? I would probably do level 1 or the base model...
Can you adjust the trim limit switch to different levels? I believe mine is suddenly out of alignment. On my 190 it doesn't seem to go as high on the gauge as it did a few weeks ago. I was able to get the prop to come out of the water a bit when I was at full up trim (not trailer trim) and I...
Rain and record flooding. Most lakes and our large rivers (St. Croix and Mississippi) are no wake. It's crested now but still a couple weeks until normal levels return.
MN boater here with a new (to me) 190 and dealing with the long no wakes too. I have gotten used to it but every time we bring new people out they ask why we wonder so much. I quickly let them drive and they understand it.
On a MN note - I can't believe they made a huge chunk of the...
I had the same question with my 190.... but in a big storm while docked I noticed the pump went off automatically (switch off/boat off). The float must be up pretty high because I have used the manual switch a couple times too.
As a new Sport boat owner back on the water after a 10 year absence I can say even us little guys struggle with the definition of no wake. My 190 weaves all over the place when I have it at the lowest speed possible. Give it a bit more throttle (under 5mph) and I see what I consider a wake...
I ended up getting your same set up but included the legs for use on the beach. It worked out great last weekend using it on the beach. I tried the bimini pole mount in the garage and that is probably where I would use it if we anchored instead of beaching. I couldn't get it to work on the rear...
Don:
Have a quick question on your Magma Grill. Is that the 15 or 17 inch model and do you know which mount size you have? I was thinking your size would fit on the bimini or the loading handle on the back of the boat (do you know if it would?)
Pessimist as well and my first thought was wow those guys purposely didn't retie me, what did I do wrong? I will always untie both and put myself on the bottom going forward. I still can't believe someone "might" purposely leave a boat untied on the river because they were "mad".... I mean a...
Had kind of a scary incident on Saturday on the Mississippi. While we were heading back to the launch a heavy downpour hit us. We decided to stop at a public city dock and get something to eat while we waited for the rain to stop. The dock is your basic floating straight line with room for...
Good discussion in this thread. My 190 came with the 2nd anchor posted (Greenfield Coated) and I have used it in rocks, sand, and mud bottoms so far it's held well.
I have a question on anchors while up on the beach. The 190 really only has room for one anchor in the "anchor locker" it has in...
You sound like the perfect candidate for a Chromebook if all you do is internet stuff. You could get 2-4 of them for the price of a Macbook ;)
Honestly, I low priced Dell with Win 8.1 is probably your best bet for around $300. I have had countless laptops with intel processors without issue...
