I did as well, I got my bravo 2 upgraded it to the same size stainless after aluminum prop blew the hub.
She runs well with fresh engine rebuild. 60gal of fuel, 20gal of water 3 adults and two kids I got 40mph, by gps on Lake Washington yesterday. I mainly got the bravo 3 lower for improved...
Hello,
I bought a bravo 3 lower unit(got a good deal on it) to change out my Bravo 2. Heard good things about Bravo 3s handling and planing. Since I only boat in fresh water and trailered 99% of the down time, figured why not.
My outdrive ratio seems to be 2.00:1 according to SeaRay prop matrix...
Hello,
For some reason the gauges on my Sundancer don't come on with the nav lights.
I fiddled with the dimmer switch - nothing. Can't see any breakers tripped and I checked them all. Nav/anchor lights and switch work just fine.
Any ideas on where else to look and what else to check? Gauges...
Hello,

Ok working backwards, tested the alarm by grounding the gear lube monitor wires. Works. On to the oil pressure switch wire I went. Grounding it to the block worked and now I had continuous alarm, like I should, on key on. Which leads me to believe oil pressure switch is bad? But it still reads...
Hello,
Have a 1997 Sundancer 270 with 7.4 Merc.
As of few days ago, alternator not charging batteries and my alarm stopped sounding during startup.
Used to be you turn a key alarm is on until you fire it up. Now nothing.
I check the alt with DVM, seems to be putting out 12.5 at idle, at the...
Why post if you won't be any help to anyone? He liked motorcycles and drinking. State troopers already found him. Anyway, found searay for sale locally, went to take a look. Got the pics of what I needed. Will post them later for future reference.
Hello,
Could someone please tell me how the interrupter switch should be wired? Some shoddy mechanic decided to take it off the boat... I got a new plate with the switch, but I don't see any wires that need to be connected to it. I know one side is group the other one either to coil or...
Looks elongated. It isn't so much installing it, it's that I REALLY don't want to drill more holes in the transom... So unless I can somehow match up the longer tab hinge with existing holes, I would be a bit hesitant....
I figured on the hydrofoil. I think they work pretty well on the smaller...
Well I need to do the bellows, I figured since I have to paint it all I might as well do the swivel... Oh well. Was hopping to get the leak fixed before going to the salt water, but looks like that is not going to happen until i come back.
Thanks guys!
Tons of good info!
That is a 3rd time I am hearing about increasing the span of the tabs, I guess I should stop hearing and start listening. Are they aluminum or SS? I can probably have a metal shop weld another plate under the original tab, that way I wouldn't have to remount the cylinders or worry about...
Hi all,
Notice I have been getting a lot of water in my bilge. Enough to trip the pump... Decided to investigate, found the leak and made a video, but can't tell for the life of me what is leaking. Could use another pair of eyes on it. It's above the u-joint bellows... Engine isn't running. I...
No no no.
Sorry I misspoke, 30 is what at got at 3100, full throttle I get close 35-36, but that is the most I ever saw.
Getting on a plane is indeed a bit painful.
Drive is fully trimmed down.
I have tried full down tabs few times, I honestly did not notice that huge of a difference. So much...
Just to post an update, so far I like the SS prop and I am happy I went with the same size as the stock aluminum.
At 3100 RPM with aluminum prop I used to run 22-24(max) on GPS, with SS same RPM I run 26-28 consistent and was at 30(max) for 5-10 min on calm water.
Good enough result for me...
Just to post an update, John you were spot on.
Prop was spun. I had the prop re-hubed, but it didn't hold.
Ended up getting a new SS prop, she runs better than new now.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
Generally they are not, this was a fluke. I think someone just had it sitting on a shelf and they had no need for it. No argument from me. At half the price, I will take it!
Honestly the main reason I went with SS, was that it is such a good deal. Couldn't pass up. But after reading more on...
Cliff I did not mean to come out sounding arrogant. Lake/lakes I usually play in don't really have much of a problem with submerged objects or rocks. Few places that I know have rocks, I tend to stay away from, except from one of our favorite lunch spots, where dock is riddles with stones where...
