Looking for advice on what to check / change. My starboard engine analog oil pressure gauge is reading low at high engine RPM. It reads correctly at idle, but once engine speed increases above 1500 or so the oil pressure gauge needle drops closer to 0 instead of increasing closer to 50+.
I know...
I ordered Facet P/N 40176 from Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies. Took about a week for delivery.
Note: if you go this route you will have to transfer the NPT fittings from the old pump to the new pump (make sure you have pipe thread sealant that can stand up to gasoline), and you will have to crimp...
I had trouble this summer where my marine HVAC compressor would not start. It turned out to be the Klixon overload protection device. This device is normally closed, has the AC line voltage to the compressor run through it, sits against the compressor body and will open if the compressor gets...
I had to use an extension and swivel to get on the spark plugs. Seems impossible at first but it can be done. You have to position the swivel so that the spark plug socket angles towards the spark plug. The problem I had was the swivel would move too easily, meaning I would set the swivel in...
+1 for Marinebeam!
I replaced all my cabin lights, anchor light, and red/green nav lights about 5 years ago. Still working great.
Just last week I decided to replace the cockpit lights (two lights near the floor in rear portion of the cockpit), transom locker light, and stern light and those...
It was the fuel pump. Definitely. The new one sounds so much better when you hit the ON switch. I changed it this weekend so time will tell but it's starting and running great so far. What a PITA to change it though. I hope this replacement works for a long time because I don't want to ever have...
I’m 99% sure it’s the fuel pump. Fuel filter was OK. Govenor oil was OK (but is fresh now!). When I got to the boat today the generator would not start. There was no fuel in the carb even after several cranking attempts and holding the ON/preheat button for extended periods. I could finally get...
Awesome. I will check the fuel separator filter in addition to the governor oil. It's one of those spin on types, like a typical oil filter, so it only has the 1 gasket I think. Come to think of it I replaced all of my fuel separator filters on 6/12/20 and my problems began shortly afterwards...
Thanks! Interesting about the fuel pump. At first I thought it was the fuel pump but when I disconnected the line it pumped fuel OK, but that was after it had cooled off. Sounds like next time it quits I need to check the fuel again immediately while it's still hot.
Any idea what PN I should...
2002 340 Sundancer w/Westerbeke 4.5 BCGB <-- ~1200 hours.
Generator runs normally (as it has done the last 7 years that I've owned it) and then suddenly just shuts down. It will run 4, 5, 6 hours at a time, then die and won't restart. The next weekend I come down to the boat it does the same...
OK, just to clarify you are advising that I should replace both hoses, which would enable me to cut the hoses near the engine block allowing me access to remove the block adapter, bolt the new hoses to the block adapter and then re-install the block adapter with the new hoses already attached...
Just FYI - I got my the Vesselview Mobile module installed this weekend and I can verify that it does pass through faults with both engines to my iphone via bluetooth.
Does anyone know what height the risers are on a 2002 340 DA with raw water cooled 6.2 MPI engines and V drives? I've got an oil leak at the rubber to metal crimp on one of my remote oil filter hoses. It's dripping into the bilge and making a mess. I would like to order the hose and have it for...
Yes, I contacted him. He is no longer renting it because the person who rented it last did not return it. I bought the unit myself, so maybe I will rent it out in a similar fashion.
I went ahead and purchased the unit. The shop that fixed my boat is clueless about such things so I wouldn’t even trust them to program the engine during a service call.
I figure maybe I can rent it out like the guy on eBay was doing or just sell it when I’m done with it.
Anyone willing to loan or rent a Techmate Pro w/94006 adapter?
Only needed for 1 week. I just need to program my port engine from starboard to port, and read the hours/RPM history.
Guy on Ebay was renting them for $75 but seems he quit doing that back in June.
